May 31st Thursday 2018

I worked hard outside today, starting to clean up and move the caravan out of the way so we can move the big metal frame (bathroom laundry) into place.

The caravan has been moved from the East Side of the block to the West side. I got the rake out and cleaned the area, then moved the caravan into place...

I may put some work into the caravan this weekend and get it ready for it's next trip, last year I took about two months to get it in order this year I hope to get it ready in about four days...

Not a good picture as I was working outside the Royal Flying Doctor flew over home so I took a picture with my phone camera, if your sick they fly you out to Broken Hill or to Adelaide South Australia... And it is a free service...

Tonight we are off to a Birthday Party, it being held at the White Cliffs Hotel. It's a 75th party and quite a few people have been asked...

Carol did some art at the "White Cliffs Art House" today getting ready for the Art Festival in July that's not far away now, tomorrow is the 1st of June...

Still have to do some work on the Proton the heater fan switch is not working I have a go at it, maybe tomorrow morning...

It was 25c out in the sun today but we did get down to a cold 5c over night outside.

Tomorrow a new month June 2018, what happen to the last twenty years...

Thanks to David and Sue in Gippsland, you have a nice winter...

Have fun people...

May 30th Wednesday 2018

Just in case you need to know it is a Full Moon tonight... They are saying it will be 7c here tonight our coldest day so far this years.

Been busy today had to fix the toilet system it was leaking, we notice it last night. I am pleased to say job done and all is now working 100% again. Then the Vacuum Cleaner had a burning smell so I took that apart and cleaned it with WD40 just have to wait and see how it will go.

Bill sent me some pictures from Queensland (looks like a nice coffee shop Bill) below...

My most favorite rest stop, always nice food and good coffee, very relaxing there. Really nice museum  everything Italian...

At the Italian Cafe here in Queensland...

Coffee Shop, Gift Shop and nice museum all Italian...

It is all Italian... Thanks Bill and Marg it's all part of Queensland just below Brisbane...

I cleaned out the trailer from the trip to Albury Wodonga today (Adrian and Dianne did up a nice dining room table for us, we took that out as soon as we got back home last Thursday today I removed all the other stuff in the trailer roofing iron.

Have to have some tests in Broken Hill hospital next tuesday nothing special so it be in Tuesday and back home on Wednesday...

I am told Aub is back home from Hospital in Albury....

A big hello to Peter and Joi in Melbourne Town, keep warm....

The temperature in the Underground home dropped to 23c inside today and that where we like to keep it. That is the perfect ground temperature... Time now to close up the windows and doors for the winter and hold the temperature at 23c...

May 29th Tuesday 2018

May almost over, that was quick, it's not that long ago we talked about a new month and it's almost June and another new month....

No rain at our place and we need it... I dipped the rain water tank today 500lt that 50% full... I know it's 50% empty someone going to tell me...

Did not feel to good early this morning but by lunch time I was all ok... Diabetes...

This afternoon I finish working on the steel frame it is 7m x 2m the big section this end will be a new bathroom the small section far end will be a new laundry.

The green line is the steel frame and I going for five star in White Cliffs...

This is how it was on day one in April, I cut away the metal we did not need.

We were told rain 5 to 10mm of rain then we were told <1mm then we were told no rain well the last guess was right, no rain today. As above I was outside working in the sun and the thermometer in the sun read 41.2c today really hot as you can see in the picture above it was a blue sky most of the day...

So I went our at sunset and it was 21c in the shade a beautiful night...

For the record it is 24c in the Underground Home, inside the bedrooms are also 24c with no heating or cooling...

Scott has a lot of work this week which is really good...

You all have a great night and day...

May 24th Thursday 2018

HOME, yep we are back home in White Cliffs after a big drive covering 8 days to Albury Wodonga ...

Taken at about 105kph today 40km's South of White Cliffs not a blade of grass to be seen and most of the small trees have fallen over, we need a good rain fall...

As we past the General Store we checked the mail and a few things turned up including my first selfie stick yes I got it from China around $4, just a bit of fun.

My first selfie picture it works on blue tooth... I hate taking my own picture might be good fun when taking a picture...

The cheapest petrol for the trip was Wilcannia at $1.469

We have a lot of unpacking to do and get the hot water going..

Tomorrow is another day... It's Friday and the weekend...

May 23rd Wednesday 2018

In Broken Hill tonight and all is good other than the price of fuel ULP is selling $1.599lt with the highest $1.769 that getting up there fuel in White Cliffs is selling $1.889lt...

I filled up today and I have one more fill at Wilcannia $1.569 on the way home...

Loaded the trailer today with timber that I need for home in White Cliffs.

We took this mid way between Mildura and Broken Hill today there is nothing growing in the outback as you can see in this picture.

All the way North from Mildura to Broken Hill the new water pipeline is being put into the ground for 300km's that's a lot of pipe.

There is over 3000 people working on the pipeline this is about 140km's south of Broken Hill. When up and running Broken Hill will never run out of water again, the water will be pumped the 300km's from Mildura and the Murray River. Broken Hill will only use the Murray Water on a need basis.

We have used Woolworth's for the last five years as Coles Broken Hill did not have Click & Collect, as you can see in the picture above it does now. Time to check out some prices...

Well tomorrow we pickup our online order from Woolworth's then head for White Cliffs and home... 300km's via Wilcannia...

Another day in the outback.

May 22nd Tuesday 2018

We stuck to our plan today Mildura via Deniliquin, Balranald to Mildura that drive today was 540km's... A long way with the trailer on the back...

Taken near Mildura tonight the Murray River, good picture...

Same place looking at the Murray River, it's quite high near Mildura...

Beside the river near Mildura a free car park for cars, motor homes and caravans...

At the motel near Mildura late today our room is on the right, nice room.

Good trip today we have had no news from Albury and thank you to Damon and Carmen for putting us up the last four days. Thanks...

Tomorrow we head north to Broken Hill then White Cliffs on Thursday morning....

May 21st Monday 2018

Well we had a big day first stop was the art shop where loaded up with art paints then art canvas of driffrent sizes, then we went to the supermarket as Carol is cooking the meal tonight.

Went to Adrian place where we hooked up our trailer and went around to Aub place where I spent the next four hours. Aub showed me a heap of roofing iron he had at Christmas Time I said keep it I bring the trailer down and buy it from him. The trailer takes a 1790mm sheet so we cut the roofing metal to a max size of 1790mm and loaded the trailer back at Adrian we load a table that Adrian had restored for Carol and I it was made around 1840 so it's an really old table.

The trailer ready to move off early in the morning. The plan is Mildura via Deniliquin, Balranald to Mildura that's the plan we will have to see how I feel as that drive is 540km's...

Dean Street Albury NSW on sunset.

Albury and the Murray River, it's that time of year...

Albury Wodonga has some nice trees to show off the town...

Bernie in Howlong sent me this picture in mid May sitting by the Murray River with Zac, The dog know almost every hole on the Murray River, Bernie I do not see a fishing Rod... Thanks for the picture...

May 11th Friday 2018

A big day in White Cliffs our Nurse Belinda went to Broken Hill and was given the award for best nurse in the west of NSW I was told today that they had over a 1000 nurse staff in for the award and in Broken Hill Nurse "B" was awarded top nurse for 2018.

Pictures came off an Ipad today Nurse Belinda Latham.

2018 Consumer Appreciation Award, it's a big deal here a number of locals went the 600km round trip just to see Belinda receive her award today... The Broken Hill news and the ABC news Broken Hill were there today I am told there is a lot on Facebook.

When Carol was sick over the summer break away Belinda called her almost every day, I was having trouble with diabetes Belinda called me at 9pm at night to check. When my brother John passed away last year Belinda was here for a chat. This is why she is a winner, not just us she looks after all the people in White Cliffs.

One of my jobs today the "Art Department" is going to do her first big painting it is a 1sqM painting a with no art shop in White Cliffs here is the home made easel that I made today I took the design from Mr Google, all I need to do is paint it... It's a big painting a really big painting for the White Cliffs Art Festival in July this year...

Then the afternoon I had another project the trailer was look a bit of a mess so I found some house paint and a brush.

If you look in the trailer that what the outside looked like so I set about doing some art of my own. Over the weekend I will I give it a second coat of paint maybe even a third coat....

Coffee in the morning at Red Earth Opal Shop we hope to get Belinda there in the morning...

Big hello to you all and have a great weekend...

The Belinda Party will go on all weekend.

May 10th Thursday 2018

Up early and outside working I don't know why we are out of timber, yes I have used all the timber that I have other than some off cut.

I try pick some up in Albury Wodonga next week, with a heap of other things I need.

A truck carrying Hay stopped in town last night and some how flatten on of the old light poles, yep your right it drove off into the early morning leaving someone else to pay for it... The building in the background is the unused Parks and Wildlife building. Top right is the White Cliffs General Store and Post Office...

Then it was off to the Royal Flying Doctor to have my diabetes checked and they have given me new tables once again that three new lot's in six weeks...

The trouble started when a tablet I was taking Pioglitazones, was found to be no good and may cause liver cancer well I was on it 28yrs, I am putting it here for people to read it you are on the tablet you should talk to your doctor.

On the good side of the day my lotto I only take four games $2.80 guess what we had a win on three out of the four games a total of $44.50 not great but three wins out of four games, that's a first...

That was our day we locked up the underground tonight it is a cold 15c outside... 25c inside the Underground 2c above normal with no heating or cooling...

Hello to Bill and Doug in Queensland you all have fun...

May 9th Wednesday 2018

The day started early a noise at our bedroom window a small Kangaroo maybe a year old at the window in a bad way and unable to hop. At first I way thinking a broken leg, then it started to move around after some water it sort of hopped away slowly my next thing was maybe a thorn in it's foot. It went next door never to be seen again.

Last year Royal Flying Doctor Award.

Some really good news our local Nurse Belinda know as "B" has won the award in West New South Wales Consumer Appreciation Award for 2018 this is the second award she has won in the pass year winning a Royal Flying Doctor Award last year... Belinda will be handed her award in Broken Hill Friday this week, that's about the biggest award you can get in the Far Outback, Well done "B" we think your tops.

The frame for section one is job done and ready to be lined looking great in my view.

Tonight Sunset, it's not bad but no rain as yet, Carol may have to do a rain dance out on the landing we have around 800lt's drinking water in the water tank.

Must be getting old I had to just think what day of the week it is, Tomorrow afternoon I have to go see the diabetic lady about my sugar level, she take more blood tests buggar...

Have tomorrow morning to do some more work but that will not last as I will run out of timber this week.

Next week are planning a trip to Wangaratta, Albury and Wodonga I take the trailer with us and get what we need.

Have a good week, the weekend almost here...

May 8th Tuesday 2018

A great Tuesday blue sky and cool weather all day, as I was told today it is like living in heaven... Worked on the house a few hours they went out after lunch and seen Otto a good friend we talked about our new camera (Otto own one) remember the picture of the moon a few days ago.

I went for a drive in Carol Proton Car late to it had a flat battery that was on charge most of the day. Driving around I seen this on the hill "What Is It" that would be a good question, it looks like something out of a Mad Max Movie...

Taken from the car today that is a old underground home in White Cliffs up top it has a round glass room. It be about 60yr's old the man who built it at the time was the owner of Bendigo Pottery, Bendigo... Like others he put a lot of work into his underground home and he called it "The Eagle Nest" it now has a new owner.

Bit of a joke but a lot of fun, White Cliffs Bed & Breakfast and it's Free "It is a budget B&B" as I said just good fun...

Carol car I found the problem the cooler fan switch is stuffed it will not turn on or off and it is burnt and will need to be replaced...

And Otto thanks for having me around the afternoon I enjoyed the time. Otto is good with a computer and know a lot about camera's

Well that's it, hope you enjoy Three Dot's..

May 7th Monday 2018

Up early and working on the hall way outside the underground. I keep at it till I run out of timber.

Not real good plan but it will show you what we are doing up here. The red is the new hallway that leads from the Underground to the new kitchen. So you walk out of the underground into the hallway then turn left and walk up to the kitchen door (red arrow) near the door you will see a new store room.

The blue square is built and in the pictures below.

That's the store room and hall that will lead to the underground home.

That's the storeroom at this end of the hallway. The walls will be cement sheet and all painted.

That is the doorway that leads into the new kitchen.

Not a good picture I stuffed up, looks like rain but no rain so far and I don't think we will get any this week.

Do you use Instagram?, if you do let me know "rexwdun" is the user name I put one or two pictures on Instagram each week. It good fun and nothing like Facebook or Twitter.

Joi is back home in Melbourne.

Now, Thursday next week we are going to Wangaratta then Albury Wodonga to see the family.

A big hello to David and Sun in Gippsland..

The underground is starting to cool down after a very hot summer, we are now 25c inside it will drop to 23c during the winter, it's good we do not need a heater...

I am going to see Otto tomorrow and look at his new camera, the other day Otto took that picture of the moon looking forward to having a good look at it...

You all have a great day...

May 6th Sunday 2018

We went out to the seniors dinner last night paid for by our local council, It was a good meal but an hour after I got home my diabetes was way over the top. If you know about diabetes try 21....

I still went to the local hotel this morning for a cup of coffee nothing else... We picked up a local lady who ask to come and have a coffee with up this morning she is 89yrs old..

So it was up this morning and cleaned the car out inside and out. Missed a few bit but not bad for a rush job it sure a lot better that is was...

Sunset tonight we had a pink glow in the sky you can see the colour in the driveway. Not a great sunset but it not a bad one this is taken from home the sunset is moving to the north for winter...

I worked outside on the hallway for four hours today, I was hoping that moving around would lower my sugar levels and it did I was 11 tonight... (by the way the perfect number is 5.7 ....)

You all have a great week...

May 5th Saturday 2018

Today it was back to work on the hallway that will lead from the underground home to the new kitchen, we will be able to walk from the underground section to the kitchen without getting wet and without walking outside. I am looking forward to that day.

Yep the building has started on the hallway...

All the timber is White Ant proof (well they say it is) metal windows and door frames...

Adrian and Dianne have a Popup shop in Glen Innis NSW this weekend, Adrian sent us this picture. The Australian Celtic Dance Championships Glen Innis.

Karen (Queensland) sent this picture taken Bli Bli near the Gold Coast Queensland. That's a nice picture well done...

Thank you all for the pictures tonight and thank you for sending them to Three Dots. I must say thank you for the commends of Otto picture of the moon last night Three Dots. That's a good picture.

I am having a last look over the weekend but for now my new camera will be the same as Otto.

Tonight we are going out for tea at the White Cliffs Hotel as it is seniors week in White Cliffs and the local shire is paying for the seniors meal tonight... This will be the first time Carol and have been to the dinner...

May 4th Friday 2018

Carol went to craft with the ladies I started work on the hallway to the kitchen from the underground, I worked on it most of the day. Most of the time today was setting up the big saw and setting up tools to work with I have coffee in the morning then do some more work.

Now the bad part of the day I went for a drive with my big camera and took some pictures, nothing not a picture turned out. I have the Microsoft Camera Phone and will go back to using it tomorrow, the bigger camera can go in the tip....

I have been looking at a new camera a Nikon P900 and a Canon 50x zoom but I may now move a bit faster and get it soon. A friend Otto has the new Canon:

How good is that but I must say Otto is a Professional Photographer and use to work for Kodak 50yr's ago. I have never seen a moon picture of that quality.

The camera that broke came from a auction in White Cliffs a few weeks ago and cost $15.00 the old story you get what you pay for...

Details on the camera Canon Powershot SX540 HS.... Google that around $350...

You all have a good weekend....

My sister Joi back on the sick list in Hospital in Melbourne, get better soon girl...

Otto thanks for that great picture...

May 3rd Thursday 2018

We woke up in Broken Hill picking up a few last minute item and call into Woolworth's Supermarket and picked up our order, we did the order online...

We were on the road at 10am heading home to White Cliffs we had a number of stops to check the load of timber on the trailer... It's a start for the next project the start to the outside hallway...

They said it was going to rain 1-5mm today, no rain in the picture above you are looking at dust waves of dust from the North West heading to the East.

It tricked me late today I was seeing rain then it hit near home dust.

Car all good did 600km's in the last 24hr's, all good at home no dust inside the underground home..

That's about it from here ..... We are looking forward to the family and the grandkids in about two weeks...

Have Fun..

May 2nd Wednesday 2018

In Broken Hill tonight, we left White Cliffs at 6:45am this morning (the sun just came up) driving to Broken Hill it was a really slow trip.

Carol took this picture out the car windscreen it was a big machine going to Broken Hill mining, it was big so big the police said sit it out you have no room to pass it. So we sat at 80kph for 71km's that is a slow trip in the 110kph zone.

Another picture by Carol out the windscreen how did she do this she split the van in front and split the road, I asked her how she did that only to be told "you need to be female" ....

Our new motel, The Gateway Motor Inn, Broken Hill ... It's new and very clean (as it should be)...

It has around 30 large rooms and tonight it is full, and looks good...

Nice pool area, maybe next trip I try the pool... 29c here today...

The outdoor area, don't think it ever been used.

Lot of plants been added, they were still adding them today when we arrived.

It is a big week in Broken Hill with Thursday, Friday and weekend a really big AgFair on in town... They are saying 80,000 people will visit the site...

Tomorrow morning we pickup our food order from the supermarket then head towards home 300km's away...

What else, Adrian have a good time... I checked out the water pipe above the home that we fixed on Monday, all fixed...

That's it 7pm in NSW and 6:30pm in Broken Hill South Australian time.

Have fun hello to Peter and Joi...

May 1st Tuesday 2018

New month it's may already and it's only 5 1/2mth's till we pack the old caravan and hit the road that's unreal I been working outside all day today cleaning up the large metal frame that will be our new bathroom laundry. Are we keeping the old bathroom, Yes we will it's handy as it is close to the bedrooms.

Went for a walk up top to check on our water leak from yesterday and happy to report it is a 100% fixed.

While up there I took some pictures for Three Dots...

I did a lot of cleaning up today I have removed all the metal from the big metal frame and take two loads of old steel to the tip... This is looking North towards Queensland across the town about 1km away. That shed on the right belongs to next door, the owner there pass away around 2yr's ago and no one lives there now.

Looking over next door to the North East you can see all the dust from a car heading east towards Paroo Nation Park... It has to be one of the worst roads you would ever drive on...

Looking west not much of a sunset, will it rain they are saying no, but are saying 1-5mm on Thursday night...

Scott had some fun in Wangaratta today he turned a computer on and had a small fire on the motherboard, As Scott well knows there is a old saying in the computer business "Don't let the smoke out" you can never trust that computer again and it should be dumped in the tip...

Off to Broken Hill tomorrow morning I need to go buy some timber and start building the hallway from the underground to the new kitchen... We will stay there tomorrow night in a new motel the old motel not good it is starting to fall apart. It was $115 night the new one $125 night for $10 we will try the new one. While in Broken Hill we will pickup a small order from Woolworth's Supermarket. Next month Big-W in Broken Hill will close down that be a sad day for Broken Hill... They are closing five shops across NSW...

Carol still painting for the Art Festival in July and as part of the Art Festival I have been asked to put up pictures on the "Old White Cliffs" so far I have some great stuff for the festival weekend, that's my project for the year in town.

The big hello today goes to Doug and thanks for the Mini Train pictures I always get emails when we put the trains on Three Dots...

Tomorrow Three Dots from Broken Hill...
