October 31st Wednesday 2018

End of the month and Christmas is a step closer, it be November tomorrow...

A hot day in White Cliffs we had 38c in the shade and a very hot 51c in the sun today I was up at 6am to try beat the heat of the day working outside on the Car and Caravan but by 10am it was really hot we went down to the hospital to get some paperwork filled in (Carol has her eye fixed on Monday morning in Broken Hill)... The flying doctor comes in every Wednesday for the day....

What sort of tree is this, my last standing tree, and the goat's do not touch it. An Australian Native of some sort and can I buy them.. I give it water three or four times a month yet it growing in the full sun. Love a comment if you can help...

They say you will never get rid of the Salt Bush it will never die... This is taken at the top of the driveway and the salt bush is falling over as you can see.

See what I am talking about that's salt bush it's near dead from lack of water the great Australian Drought has got it...

Outside in the sun 51c today so we stayed inside the Underground Home all afternoon 23c Underground with no cooling at all.. No way you can work outside so it be up at 6am again tomorrow morning I do a few hours.

They saying 40c to 43c this Friday so we will be working inside...

Put some petrol in the car today Unleaded 91 in White Cliffs 1.90lt... O' not good...

You all have fun next month....

October 30th Tuesday 2018

I was up really early to try beat the heat by 11am it was just to hot to stay outside and walked inside they are now saying 41c at the end of the week in the shade and 56c in the sun...

Paul came over to give me advice on tyres this came off the caravan the tyres were just to soft and like this tyre after 10,000km's just fell apart we had to run 45psi so here we have the result of high tyre pressure...

A lot better we fitted the same size tyre but this time Light Truck Tyres they are a lot harder in the side wall and around 3" higher than it was on the old tyre... Should have done it years ago...

The bigger tyre looks a lot better and are rated at 60psi (we have 40psi in them right now)...

I worked on the Solar Cell building some brackets to fit it on the roof of the car... There is a lot of work setting up a tow car for a caravan and free camping...

Looking forward to camping this year it been a hard year working up here ...

We be going into Broken Hill on Sunday next, Carol will be having an eye operation on Monday next week...

After that we will need to work out a plan for this summer....

Susan moving to Canberra this week...

You all have fun..

October 29th Monday 2018

Joyce went out at the weekend to a farm show in Albury Wodonga where a city kid gets to play with the farm animal's.

While we are in Albury this the hume highway today a big loader hit the bridge and that was the end of the story, my daughter Kylie said the road was still closed tonight...

Doug sent me this from Queensland, Volcanic Rock just below where Doug lives... I like to see this maybe next year, we will go visit Queensland...

What I did today I installed the battery and inverter in the Hyundai that took me all afternoon..

It is well strapped down using the baby seat mounts even if the car was upside down this will stay in place..

One more bit to go put the solar cell on the roof like it was in the Mercedes Benz that worked well. It is only a small outfit but it works the solar cell charges the battery, the inverter converts the power to 240v 600w... We plug the caravan in and run fans, lights and TV video...

Next set is put the call on the roof..

We are doing all ok, Paul did not make it today but will be around tomorrow morning to sort the tyres out on the Caravan...

Getting hot it be over 40c in a few day...

Have fun, we will.....

October 28th Sunday 2018

Otto, a local and a good friend today launch his new book on White Cliffs at the Red Earth Cafe.

Locals looking at the new book today...

I worked on the caravan I had a broken part on the front window cover, so this afternoon I built a new part and fitted it in place and all good...

The oldest caravan in Australia, getting it ready to go away end of November, that's the plan... Still a bit of paint work to do...

Taken this afternoon from home, maybe and just a maybe a bit of green on the ground.. Where the trees are is an old dam now empty. this is looking to the North East towards Bourke NSW...

Tomorrow Paul a local coming to see me and check the tyres on the caravan, he saying the tyres on the trailer and better suited to the caravan...

That's it we have had a busy day in town today...

You all have fun..

October 27th Saturday 2018 Happy Birthday Joi.. In Melbourne...

. It's an old picture but that was my afternoon working on the caravan I took the wheels off and cleaned and repacked the wheel bearing.. That took all afternoon and adjusted the breaks...

Joyce went off to a school dance or disco, Her mother Kylie sent me this picture.

It had to happen we are now on Water Restrictions for the rest of the summer, no more washing the car other than a bucket of water...

Tonight we are of to a birthday party at the White Cliffs Hotel it's Vicky night tonight. And in Melbourne it is Joi my sister birthday gee she 21 again...

Carol said Winx won the Cox Plate this year.. again...

Time to go out and you all have fun...

October 26th Friday 2018
The weekend is near and sun sure drying out the ground around home even more than before...

Up here every year the Royal Flying Doctor Service does a full check up on the local people we yesterday and today it was my turn. They do a lot of blood test and I get those results next week but all the general stuff I never been better, real happy about that...

This morning I could hear goats outside around 6am so I got up and had a look...

They turn pot over and stuff our Jacaranda tree, making a really big mess the top been eaten off again and I am little pissed off the only way is to build a yard around the trees. It was two goats I walked out and found them eating the tree...

Back from the hospital I after coffee I got up on the roof and cleaned it off even the old roof over the bathroom (I build a new one next year, bathroom that is...)

The rocks fall on the roof so I cleaned the roof and racked the rock back from the edge... Hot job up there today...

It was a hot day so I took the car for a drive 30km's as a big test in the heat all good I was really happy after all the repairs...

I am not sure what is going on but note the two fire tenders from the White Cliffs Station are out and the doors are up a good part of the day...

It is 35c at the airport and 40c here at home this is inside the underground 23c in the kitchen...

In the lounge room it is 24.1c inside and 40.2c outside...

We just had a phone call that a local Peter and his wife in their 50s, have lost their home to a house fire on the edge of town they also lost their car in the fire, you just wait and see this town will be right behind the family in the next 48hr's...

Will see how we can help...

October 25th Thursday 2018

Up early to beat the heat, I wired the Terracan lights to suit the Caravan and Trailer another big job you all most pull the car apart to get it done... But the good news is the tow bar is fitted and now all the wiring is done and I can say at last job completed.

..
I took the trailer to the tip today with all lights working...

Looking up the hill above home today the trees are starting to fall over lack of water...

That new camera sure has some power I could hear the Flying doctor about to take off, could not see the airport it be 4km's away so I pointed the camera as the Flying Doctor was about to turn around.

If you look hard you can see the Royal Flying Doctor Plane about to take off in a hail of dust as I said this 4km's from home I am standing on top of our underground home... The dry outback as seen today...

Weather was 35c today in White Cliffs and the same tomorrow...

We are back to needing water we still have 960lt's in the rain water tank so we are all good to the end of the year..

Tomorrow I am going to do some cleaning up early...

Thank's to all who sent great comments about Bernie great photo yesterday, It's always good to get feed back...

Have fun...

October 24th Wednesday 2018

We are back home in White Cliffs after an early morning drive left Broken Hill at 7:15am our first stop was at "Little Topar" a truck stop on the Barrier Highway 77km's East of Broken Hill good food there and breakfast bacon and eggs... We stopped about an hour then it was back on the road to the BP servo at Wilcannia where we filled with fuel $1.63lt today the little car used 7lt's per 100km's sitting on 110... happy with that..

Have to get that windscreen fixed (bit of good new the windscreen to a stone again today) but who care's it's already broken..

If you look close even the salt bush is almost dead if we get no rain it is going to look like a beach out here... The bad thing is it will take a flood to fix the problem's out in the outback...

Back home I took the Big Car for a 20km drive and checked it over when I go back home all good. I had the air conditioner on and all was good...

We have a return trip to Broken Hill in ten days for medical reason's

That was our day...

Just some other notes "Three Dot's" has passed 33,000 hit...

From Bernie:

Bernie you made a perfect picture even better...

Classic landscape here with Rexie. A little bit of my refinement to your original image to take away atmospheric haze. Keep pushing the shutter button on that camera. It's a daily ritual for me to view your 3 dots page updates. Love 'em! Email you tomorrow with a bit  more yak.

PS: Hope you didn't waste all that water from the radiator you replaced in the Hyundia Terracan.  Blend it with the town's dam water supply and you will have the best coffee in White Cliffs.  Cheers from Bernie at Howlong.

Love you Bernie, HaHaHa...

October 23rd Tuesday 2018
In Broken Hill tonight still driving the little car, the Big Car fixed but need to test it a bit more before we set off on a 600km round trip to Broken Hill and back...

The main street of Broken Hill it is a very old town in the early days it was run by BHP and the Union Movement.

All four pictures tonight are taken in the main street of Broken Hill it is a nice city to visit and our main shopping town ...

Always a good picture looking up towards the Post Office and Police Station..

The way out of town

Broken Hill is an inland mining city in the far west of outback New South Wales, Australia. It is near the border with South Australia on the crossing of the Barrier Highway (A32) and the Silver City Highway (B79), in the Barrier Range. It is 315 m (1,033 ft) above sea level, with a hot desert climate, and an average rainfall of 235 mm (9 in). The closest major city is Adelaide, the capital of South Australia, which is more than 500 km (311 mi) to the southwest and linked via route A32.

The town has a high historical importance in Australia's mining and economic history after the discovery of silver ore led to the opening of various mines, thus establishing Broken Hill's recognition as a prosperous mining town well into the 1990s. Despite experiencing a slowing economic situation into the late 1990s and 2000s, Broken Hill itself was listed on the National Heritage List in 2015 and remains Australia's longest running mining town.

Broken Hill has been referred to as "The Silver City", and less commonly as the "Oasis of the West", and the "Capital of the Outback". Although over 1,100 km (680 mi) west of Sydney and surrounded by semi-desert, the town has prominent park and garden displays and offers a number of attractions, such as the Living Desert Sculptures. The town has a high potential for solar power, given its extensive daylight hours of sunshine. The Broken Hill Solar Plant, which was completed in 2015, is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.

Today was a very busy and a medical trip this time we did a late shop at coles, we head for home in the morning.

A good trip in the Proton today it's getting old but still the best car we have owned..

You all have fun..

October 22nd Monday 2018

A full day fitting the Tow Bar to the Terracan it's so heavy for this old man I jacked it into place using the electric jack...

Fitted in place at last... I just need to wire it up for the caravan... I get what I need in Broken Hill tomorrow and finish it off at the end of the week..

This is the plate on the tow bar I can tow 2500kg with a ball weight of 200kg now a big question how do I weigh the ball weight on the Caravan....

What you find living underground a shaping machine and more.

A full size metal lath and it in a underground room... Ron a local can make almost any thing..

Tomorrow it's up early and on the road to Broken Hill going to be a big day, stay over night then back home on Wednesday afternoon...

After the car I do one or two days on the caravan and start getting it ready to go away for the summer...

That's Monday not a lot to report but it was a very big day working on that tow bay...

You all have fun.

All good and working...

Tomorrow I try fit the tow bar that a heavy job... If I find we need something I can get it in Broken Hill on Tuesday.

October 20th Saturday 2018

Found this picture on the ABC Broken Hill Website. It is a picture of Smiths Hill White Cliffs...

The orange ring is our place, what we call home. You do not see this often the green ring is the first White Cliffs air strip on top of Smiths Hill running East to West in the green ring you can also see the two water tanks on top of the hill for the town. The blue ring is the Underground Motel... There are a lot of Underground homes on Smiths Hill....

Susan and Scott play a game with Paislie in Lavington today... Susan almost ready to move to Canberra in the next three weeks.

Taken by Janett next door (it's saying a little closer just a bit and I rip your toe's off. White Cliffs lizard...

No work on the car today a shocking day big dust then rain (0.4mm) and late in the day a blue sky and sunshine.

October 19th Friday 2018

The weekend is here and for Carol and I a time to slow down and meet up with friends... for famous White Cliffs coffee we missed out last weekend.

The new car took up most of our day I pulled it apart this morning what a shocker of a job...

The old and the new radiator out of the Terracan (I let you work out which is the new one) getting the old one out is not easy it has a heap of pipes top and bottom. it took four hours to remove it..

I will put the new one back in tomorrow or Sunday just need to check on the weather. They are saying 1 - 5mm of rain tomorrow we will have to wait and see...

Stopped work at 2pm it just got to hot 34c in the shade at 4pm it topped out at 36c in the shade (it was 56c in the sun today)

I have a bit of a jigsaw I layed all the parts I took out of the car on a board, then went to the Shop to check the mail. When I returned a Goat had turned my board over in the dirt I have to wash all the parts, just hope the Goat has not eaten any nuts and bolts...

While we were away in Albury some wild life got into my new tree I say a Goat... Another new tree stuffed up.

Have to see what the weather does tomorrow we are off to coffee in the morning...

All good here it would be nice if we get a drop of rain tomorrow...

Have a great weekend...

October 18th Thursday 2018 (One year ago today my brother John, passed away.)

We are back home in White Cliffs tonight, we left Hillston at 7am driving to Cobar and turn left then at Wilcannia we did a turn to the right. Yes we did 588km's today back to White Cliffs and only turn two corners, that's the outback...

All the picture today are from the car all taken by Carol... That's all we did today DRIVE....

Hillston to Cobar a drive of 256km's... The Proton has no speed control and out here you just seem to go faster and faster then you look at the speedo and slow down....

The road just goes on and on with no bends to talk about. Sorry about the crack in the windscreen I get it fixed soon...

We are now passed Cobar and heading towards Wilcannia 260km's West of Cobar...

Coming into Wilcannia and about to cross the Darling River...

The bridge across the Darling River (no water) this is the new bridge the old bridge is on the left in the picture...

Kids playground in Wilcannia...

Here is the only right turn for the day 2km west of Wilcannia you turn right towards White Cliffs (you turn North towards Queensland.

Heading towards White Cliffs 93km's North of here, you sure do not need a lawn mower or here...

Back home and we feel stuffed that's a big nine day... Nothing else today we are looking forward to a big sleep tonight..

The Proton use over the 588km's 6.1 lph the best was 5.8 lph (had a tail wind) from Cobar to Wilcannia we used 7.4 lph with a strong head wind... being a small car the wind has a lot to do with it, the motor size is 1498cc...

You all have fun tomorrow and over the weekend...

October 17th Wednesday 2018

My grand daughter Susan had a school project on "water saving" from yesterday I made an error it should read Joyce..

There are 1000s of Orange's used in the festival..

As we leave town you pass 1000s of Orange trees, heading for Hillston NSW...

Our Motel room before we mess it up with bags..

When I get back we will start work on the Hyundai install the new radiator and parts also fit a tow bar that we have in the back of the Proton car "pot" as we call it that the number plate I was told today POT means Please Over Take... that's about right...

Taken in October 2015 (3yr's ago) note the trees, well now not one of them left all dead from the drought from the biggest to the smallest the drought got the lot in the past two years (so far this year 2018 we have only had 48mm of rain..)

The same area taken last month, I am trying to grow a new tree but not having a lot of luck.. The Kangaroos, Goats, and Ant eaters.

The garden at the shop always looks good..

An old saying but still a good one...

Emu's at the shop today (made of metal)

A place to sit and eat at the Hume Weir...

The hard rock band is still playing a tune...

The shop from the car park it's always worth a look...

Have fun this week, all good here...

October 14th Sunday 2018

Late tonight we had family around for dinner tonight at Muffy place, really good to see you all...

From Yesterday

Hi Rex, You're correct about it being good for an overnight stop (Hume Freeway, northbound, near Chiltern). That’s exactly what I did back in May 2014 instead of arriving in Wodonga after dark. I was on the way from Nathalia to Wodonga via a long stop in Shepparton visiting a relative. My diesel/24vdc cabin heater worked well that night, one of the few times it’s been used!

The other interesting thing is that the main Sydney/Melbourne rail line runs about 50 metres behind the BBQ in a shallow cutting. Great location for ‘train-spotting’ !

Cheers, Doug. (Thanks Doug I like the picture of the rail line we just need to add a train, maybe add that to my list)

Went over to the open day at an old age area in Wodonga today. Adrian and Dianne had a Popup shop there as they do every year. A good social day out...

A few of the homes had garage sales today... good fun...

Sorry we are so late just had family dinner today....

You all have fun...

October 13th Saturday 2018

In Albury Wodonga overnight, last night we went to see Carmen (Carol Daughter) and Damon and the two Wodonga grand kids had a great meal with the family, thanks guys...

Stayed at Muffy place last night.

Today we drove to Wangaratt and did some shopping at the K-Mart in Wangaratta I like the shop, seem to be able to find what I am looking for...

Next was lunch with Scott at a local hotel (North-O) a very good meal and it was good to see Scott and have a chat, we talk everyday on the phone but a chat in person is better...

In Wangaratta I went and seen family and found it hard to work this out... 30ft up a pine tree a bird house. Not your normal bird house a five star bird house.

It looks great I love it (as the tree grows the house goes higher) the local birds will move in soon.

Angus the family pet having a meal (yes it can talk) and I am told it lovers toes... To eat...

This a wild bird that dropped by say something about Collingwood, hard to understand..

On the way back to Wodonga we pulled over at a road side stop "Iron Bark" I read on the wall..

All part of the same road side stop today make a good spot for a family get together...

Same stop the exit out, it is about 33kms South of Wodonga just off the Hume Freeway northbound.. Make good one night stop over...

A good day we seen Scott and Fay and John today... David and (Ann-Marie from Shepparton)

October 11 & 12 Thursday and Friday

We got to Albury around 9:45pm after a full day in the bus and on the train a really big day by the time we got to Muffy place it was after 9pm so I gave up on Dots last night...

I enjoy the trip it was good I do it again but it is a very big day.

Taken from my seat in row two looking over the drive we had two driver's yesterday both were good...

This was taken in Echuca a very busy town as you can see.

Along the road we went from Mildura to Swan Hill by bus then Swan Hill to Kerang on the train then back on another bust to Albury Wodonga.

We are going to look at more trips away on trains and by bus I seen a lot more than I do driving..

I do a lot more tomorrow... So you all have fun.

October 10th Wednesday 2018

Out of bed at 6am a taxi pick up at 7am to the Broken Hill airport and to fly out at 8am, but the day fell apart at the airport. Fog and light rain we sat at Broken Hill 5-1/2hr a long time then the plane landed when the fog lifted the hardest part was staying awake...

Broken Airport and the seat I sat in for 5-1/2hrs this morning, the large art in the background was the late ProHart of Broken Hill.

After 5-1/2hrs you know everyone around you by name...

One the plane at last at Broken Hill, Rex Airline... (pictures from the plane are not great the small windows are a bit foggy..

Not a great picture at 15,000ft above the red outback on the way to Mildura...

Mildura at last around 3pm we took a taxi from the airport to the Hotel across from the Railway Station where we leave from tomorrow morning...

Mildura CBD today and the sky looks as it did in Broken Hill this morning..

The CBD today... Mildura.

It's a clean city Mildura...

Home for tonight upstairs a really nice place cost $116 a night...

Across from the Hotel the Murray River (I love the Murray River it's a great river.)

The "Big Bridge" across the Murray River NSW to the left VIC to the right.

This part of the river is looking great perfect gardens..

Up the hill to home for the night...

A really big day and tomorrow it's on the bus Mildura to Swan Hill, on the Train Swan Hill to Kerang, then back on a bus to Albury late tomorrow night...

How that for a hard day and we are both feeling a bit stuffed right now but I did like my walk along the river this afternoon... I am told no rain in White Cliffs...

You all have fun, we are trying to...

Tomorrow Bus Train Bus....

October 9th Tuesday 2018

And the trip down South is under way we left White Cliffs in Rob car at midday and drove in

to Broken Hill you have seen heaps of pictures in Broken Hill, seen I was sitting in the passenger seat so I took some pictures for Three Dots on the way...

Outside of White Cliffs heading towards Wilcannia we are 100km's north at this stage.

It a good road it be nice to have some white lines, you can see how dry it is up this way...

A 100km's South of White Cliffs you turn the only corner onto the Barrier Highway towards Broken Hill (you can turn left to Wilcannia).

On the Barrier Highway towards Broken Hill a late model 4WD must have had trouble and pulled over and left overnight. When we went pass it had no tyres and no wheels anything on the car has been removed...

As I have said many times not much to see out here at times around 90km's from Broken Hill. You could go fast but the bumps in the road will slow you down...

October 8th Monday 2018

We had a hot day here not so bad in the shade it was in the sun that rocked me today I went out side to work and was thinking how hot is here...

At 4pm it got to 31c here in White Cliffs at the airport..

So I checked out the temperature in the sun,

Have a look at this it is 45c in the sun today no wonder I felt hot... Remember this is in the sun...

I went in side and checked it out, 23c inside the underground.... that is spot on 23c the perfect temperature..

Then I went right down the back of the underground (back of the guest bedroom) and it's 21c that be nice to sleep in at night..

That about tells the story it's getting really hot out side in the sun but perfect underground....

Tomorrow we head South to see family and pickup Carol car from Albury we get into Albury late on Thursday night...

Tomorrow Dot's will be from Broken Hill, hope I have the internet...

October 7th Sunday 2018

I have owned White Cliffs from 1995, but it was on this day five years ago we moved here full time, yes we packed up in Wangaratta and moved here to live... (the start of three dots). It's been good but at times it's been hard so far from family but we live with a big family here. The social life is out of this world where ever we lived before we never went out, here we are never home... Five Years...

The locals turn up most nights..

A good friend sent me this picture taken today at the White Cliffs Hotel 17 people turned up for a Bacon and Eggs at the hotel 10am and it cost $10 a head... Thank for the picture....

I took some pictures around the hotel after coffee today it's is a hotel motel ....

Sue and David from Gippsland came and stayed here on the hottest day in White Cliffs in years the temperature that day was near 50c.. If you come back come in Winter hahaha

Back of the White Cliffs Hotel Motel itself, the green grass is plastic...

Another view of the pub, great food here...

Out back where we meet every Sunday for Coffee (the local people call it the Pig Pen) It's a local name only, inside it is one of the cleanest building in town, great staff at the Hotel...

Just another view out back of the Hotel Motel if you want a room you need to ring and book or contact anyone in White Cliffs..

What did I do most of the day watch the car race Craig may call it a day after this race just have to wait and see...

Adrian and Dianne are back from Canberra hope you had a good time...

Had a call from Sue and David today...

Calvin maybe a part time singer but the last few month he run the White Cliffs Hospital and he very good at his job.. After the Mercedes Benz crash Calvin was there to pick me up with Belinda (nurse B) in two minutes. I don't know what this is, if it's an ant it's sure a big one, outside in the yard six legs with a big body...

That's today you always find something new out side in the yard it's like a zoo out there, we have no trouble inside touch wood the home is sealed up around the doors and windows...

October 5th Friday 2018

Daylight saving this weekend....

We had a big clean up around the house today I am slowly filling the trailer, the bad news is it will have to sit there till I have a tow bar on the new car..

Carol went to craft this morning with a big group of local ladies...

Adrian sent me a picture of the new tow bar for the car we will bring it back in the Proton in ten days..

I had a look under the car looking for the place to fit the tow bar, found and the holes are already there.

Where the tow bar fits as I read on Mr Google...

The new radiator came today I will not fit this till we return for Albury Wodonga. We will have the Proton here as a backup car and I can take my time and do it right.. While in Albury I need to by some new parts such as a coolant, new cap, thermostat.. So I do the lot when I return... The part came on eBay I put the order in last Monday online in Sydney and it turned up in White Cliffs today Friday the same week...

Tomorrow coffee at Red Earth and we have been asked out tomorrow night...

Looks like a nice weekend and you all have fun...

October 4th Thursday 2018

Not much you can do outside today but better then yesterday 50kph wind and 16c an ice cold wind, most local people stayed inside today we never started the car and all today, after month's of dust and dry heat the roads turned to mud with 10mm of rain at home. Our water tank is full to over flow a 1000lt's for Tea and Coffee and cooking super clear rain water...

We will be ok for water for the rest of the year yesterday was a good day for Carol and I. As you know we have been keeping the wildlife alive the last 6mth's and every afternoon we have a number of Kangaroo's drinking from out plastic bucket. Late today not one to be seen the bucket still full and the only wildlife seen today Goats on the top of the roof...

There still more rain to be seen looking to the west late today...

Looking towards Turley Hill we may still get some more rain, but we will just have to wait and see.

Took this picture for the colour a bit of fog around the hills looking towards Queensland the sun in the west. You can see salt bush trees on an old dam that's not used, it has no water... but the ground, no grass just rock and red dust the trees with a touch of green after a good rain the hill a shade of blue and fog...

Taking this picture I was really cold the wind at 50kph was like ice at the time...

We are heading off next Tuesday afternoon towards Albury Wodonga to see family and to pickup Carol Car the Proton... We will drive it back to White Cliffs you need two cars here just in case...

Have Fun...

October 3rd Wednesday 2018

At last it happen RAIN in White Cliffs, around midday we got hit with a really big dust storm and it was big and wind just over a 100kph hit home, but the pictures tell the story far better than I do...

This was from home looking over town to the North West, than it got bigger and bigger.

To the west of home.. That's all dust a big dust storm...

Than it got bigger again, about minute later it hit home wind s 100kph dust super fine... It hit the car really hard, remember I said the other it's a hard life for a car up here...

No one home next door and this sheet of iron wrapped around a pole I did a ring around but unable to fine the owner... When the wind drops I remove it to the tip...

Then the rain came and it hit hard really good to see the Wild Life must be loving the water. At home we got 10mm or rain and as you can see it fill our 1000lt rain water tank (we use it for Tea, Coffee and Cooking only) that water is coming from the overflow pipe the tank is full. It is starting to fill the overflow tank that I use to feed the wildlife...

All in all a fantastic day, rain in White Cliffs we filled a 1000 lt tank in one hour...

Today, blue sky, dust, wind, rain.. and now sun... you have to be happy with a day like that...

Next week we are going to Albury and pickup Carol car, tomorrow I tell you what we have to do to get to Albury Wodonga.. I think it will amaze you...

Victoria next week has free travel for seniors on trains and buses... More on that tomorrow...

Tomorrow it's coffee down the main street...

October 2nd Tuesday 2018

They saying rain but not a drop to be seen so far...

Went up top of the Underground Home this afternoon to check on the air shaft don't want water coming down the air shaft... Took this picture looking across town...

A long way from town the White Cliffs Cemetery not many head stones but here something I did not know there are over 5000 unmarked graves out there from the 1800 to the 1930s the new section is right at the back.

How did it get there a rock of Ironstone over a ton in weight this is just below our home it must be millions of years old...

He ripping up the walkway...

And a lot more, the walkway to the top of the hill ripped up...

Taken two weeks ago here the problem he looking for ants and adding to his mess... I am not picking him up that's for sure...

The part for the car on it's way... 8 to 10 days hey say....

Adrian going to pick up a tow bar for the car in Albury and we will bring it back to White Cliffs in the Proton and fit it here...

Sorry I am late but have a happy day...

October 1st Monday 2018

New month and daylight saving starts next weekend... Will it rain this week, maybe the weatherman saying yes, let's hope he right..

A really bad day in White Cliffs the new used car split the top on the radiator and it sure got hot a few of us try to fix it with no luck I went on ebay and found a new one it's paid for and on it's way I hope...

Not good at all I can drive it around town it I top it up but no big trips till the new part comes...

Last night I went out side and tried to take a picture of Venus, Not great but I will try again soon...

Venus, well it's round but we all new that taken from White Cliffs last night, note at 4 o'clock far right lower on the picture a Venus Moon.

The brightest planet in the sky
Venus is the closest to Earth. Its shining presence as it hovered near the sun earned it the nickname of both the morning and the evening star, depending on its location within its orbit. Let's take a look at just how far the distance to Venus is.

As I said it's round that about all we worked out, but I do some more reading and try take a better picture. The fact we can lock onto it the first step now to do some test's and take a better picture...

How far is Venus from Earth?
Venus is the closest planet to Earth (it's also the most similar in size). But its proximity to our planet depends on the orbits of both. The two planets travel in ellipses around the sun, and so the distance between them is constantly shifting. At its farthest, Venus lies 162 million miles (261 million kilometers) away, according to NASA.

Taken later in the night you can see two moon remember this is 40 million km's away from Earth... but I think we can do better...

Venus takes 224.7 Earth days to travel around the sun.
It makes its closest approach to Earth about once every 584 days, when the planets catch up to one another. On average, it is 25 million miles (40 million km) away at this point, though it can reach as close as 24 million miles (38 million km).

The White Cliffs sky is alive with star's by the million's tonight it's very dark no moon up as yet. It a great sky...
