November 30th Friday 2018

We went and seen Aub and Beryl today (Aub is my oldest brother) he turn 90yr's old in January next a great guy.

Next was the supermarket then back home to Walla...

The Walla Walla Swimming Pool on the main road about 100m from our camp..

Wiesner a big business in Walla most of what it sells is for the farmer, and they sell some very big gear. They also sell a lot of general hardware it's a good place to buy the odd nut and bolt.

One of the bad sides of Walla Walla no supermarket and no newsagency in town the general store up the road sell a few item but someone needs to reopen the shop a lot of people live here and travel into Jindera or Albury for a supermarket.

Next Australia in January Walla Walla will be 150 yr's old and there will be four day party in town..

Another nice building sitting there not doing much build in 1940, part of it is being used as a home at the back...

As we all know it is almost December and then Christmas, New Year then we will head off for about five months on a road trip around the South East of New South Wales..

Susan in her unit in Canberra she moved in today, you will love the view...

November 29th Thursday 2018

I went for that walk around Walla Walla this afternoon with the camera here are a few of the fifty or so pictures I took today I keep putting them up over the week or so...

Next to the Sporting Oval where we are staying ANZAC park..

Part of the park read below about the 25lb gun. (Behind the caravan a caravan that's us) so it is only a short walk to the park...

The story of the gun above...

That the main street of town here in Walla Walla taken from the park...

It's a nice park just to sit in and talk as I did today, I found out there is a market in the hall on the 9th December (late in the day) and Carol By Candle light are on the 16th December at the sporting ground where we are staying about 40m from our caravan, that handy...

A well kept park here in Walla Walla "ANZAC Park" you can see the caravan park in the background...

Well Susan has a place to live in Canberra and moves in tomorrow friday, top floor she three floors up and has a nice view (hope you take some pictures and send them to three dots sometime...

We did some shopping from White Cliffs on Amazon for Christmas gee they are slow, I am going back to eBay for my online shopping...

Have fun people and it's almost December and Christmas...

November 28th Wednesday 2018

Walla Walla, was a wild place to be today, the weather across the state's of NSW and QLD was crazy today fires in Queensland rain and flood in New South Wales (Sydney) and in the Albury Wodonga area wind, Walla was bad all day..

The tree's do not show how strong today wind where..

Around the park and sport ground today we had six campers set up today...

The awning almost took off a number of times but it stayed in place..

One awning got ripped up today (I think this is the same as Adrian and Dianne motor home)...

Tomorrow I go for walk around town with the camera (I was going to do that today)...

Here is a 30sec video... CLICK HERE I took the video on the new camera...

Well tomorrow I want to go for a walk around town with the camera the old caravan going well no water leaks and so fay no problems...

November 26th Monday 2018

Some good news from Susan in Canberra she have found a home unit to live in (at last). The government in the ACT has a problem people have no where to live...

The paint work on the car in parts was bad so that was my day I did the left side of the car, that leaves one problem the right needs to be fix I do that next fine day...

We are in full camp mode now we put the awning up on the caravan and setup all out outdoor cooking gear chair's I need a few new ropes that I will get tomorrow some where...

November 25th Sunday 2018

On the way back to Walla Walla we stopped off at Jindera at the Supermarket...

The Blacksmith Shop in main street of Jindera 1872 that's a long time ago...

Bit of reading about the blacksmith shop..

Across the road Wagner's Store it is now a Museum in the main street

Some reading all about Wagner's Store...

Ok what is it (I have seen this before) it was a home nursing hospital read below...

An old home but a very old home but it is still standing back of Wagner's Store..

Flower Mill next to Wagner's Store all the pictures today are taken in the main street of Jindera

While we are here we will return for a better look at Jindera...

Thanks to Dianna and Adrian we seen them today, looking out side tonight we may get a drop of rain in the next 24hr's..

You all have fun this week..

Hello Vicki in White Cliffs...

November 24th Saturday 2018

Stayed home with the caravan all day, apart from a drive to the general store... Bit of sun today but not a lot most of the day we had cloud cover.

A really old house here in Walla Walla I don't think anyone lives there...

Another very old home, the front over run by chook's...

I always love this home and every year I take a picture it is really looking good this year...

The Post Office and General Store here in Walla Walla but like White Cliffs it is not cheap to buy from.

This is the way to Albury Wodonga it's about 36km's to town, you will not spend muck money in Walla...

I started cleaning the car out today... It is looking a lot better now that it is clean.

Today at the park they are playing Cricket and Tennis....

You all have fun today...

Hello to all in White Cliffs...

November 23rd Friday 2018

We moved out of Wangaratta today in the rain and headed for Albury Wodonga then on to Walla Walla north of Albury, and we had rain all the way and strong wind north of Albury that moved the caravan around quite a bit..

We setup a very fast setup in the rain. I finish setting up tomorrow if the rain goes away...

There are a few others here today when we got here, an old van, motor home and a tent, gee it be cold in a tent tonight we have the heater going in the caravan. The brick building is toilet showers (with hot water)... we have been here a number of times it cost $10 night with power and a maximum of $50 a week ($7.10 a night with power that the lowest price in Australia, that I know of...)

I just took this picture of the sky 100% cloud cover just now and still light rain..

White Cliffs would love this rain after three dust storms in two weeks... Today they had 23c and 65kph wind...

Bernie in Howlong you get better....

The weekend is here so you all have fun...

A big hello to all the Three Dots viewers in Queensland...

November 21st & 22nd Wednesday & Thursday 2018

Really low on power Wednesday night as it has been raining here all day today Thursday again. Have a new windscreen in the car and it is looking good. Had lunch with Scott in Wangaratta Thursday.

Why no Solar Power yesterday from sun up to mid morning it rained and we had no sun then took the car in get that new windscreen and the park the car in a shed till 2pm so no sun in the shed, from 2pm to sundown more rain so it all added up to no solar power in the battery Thursday...

Out of power last night we moved into "Wangaratta Caravan Park" and we have 240v power tonight. When there is no sun... you are like a fish out of water.

Late yesterday we had about an hour without rain and the local people came out to play in Whorouly, then a few of the campers joined in the game.

In Whorouly this week maybe the Australian Open next month.

The local's and the campers share the common ground..

Parked next to us last night a new Ford and a new caravan a very nice setup...

Carol on the right watch the Whorouly Open tennis match...

Do you like the club rooms in Whorouly (you have to like the crop growing in the Club Room gutter) all good fun then the rain came back and everyone had a drink inside the club rooms...

Today we packed up and moved off into Wangaratta and power at the caravan park. Tonight we have been asked out for dinner here in Wangaratta that one more reason we moved to Wangaratta today I did not wish to drive the 34km's Wangaratta to Whorouly late at night with the number of Kangaroo's on the road.

Tomorrow morning we will move back up towards Albury Wodonga for a while... We are looking for a near free camp for the next week...

We just had a call from White Cliffs they are having big winds and a heap of dust today...

You all have fun, we be moving again tomorrow morning....

November 20th Tuesday 2018

We were in Beechworth Victoria today it's only about 28km's from the caravan.

I do not know, he a gold miner here in Beechworth, a man of steel..

Beechworth main street in town..

A bit more of the main street, it a nice town but very old town..

Another grand Post Office, Beechworth...

All the shops are full and trading hard to find a car park...

Part of the Beechworth Bakery we had coffee there today...

Adrian sent me some pictures he took in Beechworth about a week ago...

Another picture from Adrian taken in Beechworth a grand old, very old gun...

Back home we found a full camping area tonight there are seven campers here tonight...

Not much solar power around to day...

So I keep it short, Thanks Adrian...

November 19th Monday 2018

Guess what we had a rock fly off a truck today and broke our windscreen not good start to the day, the good part of all this is the car has full glass insurance and they are fitting a new windscreen on Wednesday this week...

We went for a drive 15km's to Myrtleford it i a nice clean town.

They doing some road works in Myrtleford today...

Mt Buffalo towers over the town... makes for a good picture..

Myrtleford has a very big Post Office as you can see in the picture...

We went to the park tonight and had tea in Myrtleford before we came back to the caravan...

A boxing club doing some training at the park tonight...

The council seem to be doing a lot of work in the town there is sure a heap of Red and White tape in the town right now..

Tomorrow we are planning a quite day so I may go clean the car. The weather man say 10 to 20mm rain but what does he know...

Just have to wait and see what happens tomorrow...

You all have fun a new town on Three Dots Myrtleford...

You all have fun

November 18th Sunday 2018

Whorouly, north east victoria and all is good we had a big day, I cleaned out the cooler box and put ne ice in it today all done.. Then we did the washing in our little wind up washing machine it was a big wash but all done now and on the cloths line...

The biggest job of the day was to fit the 80 watt solar cell to the top of the new car. I do need to paint it now but it is all working 100% it is the same one we had on the Mercedes Benz. We can now put the car in the sun and the caravan in the shade...

Just a tree that I like so I took it's picture looks good with the green grass.

Just a bit more of the area where we are camped...

The oval next to the caravan it's used for Australian Rules Football, nice lot of grass...

Whorouly need to work on their game the last game this year's football... The locals got beat?...

You can see the solar cell on top of the car in the sun the caravan in the shade...

Tomorrow Carol and all her old school friends are having a lunch together, I might tag a long and sit in the corner and have my own lunch...

Just thing ing I may move the caravan from under that tree tomorrow just in case we do get 30mm of rain Tuesday and Wednesday...

Susan still looking for a place to live in Canberra, not easy... The people she works for are looking after her...

You all have fun tomorrow life to short to have a bad day...

November 17th Saturday 2018

Three Dots back to normal...

I start off by saying a big thank you to Scott who came out to Whorouly last night and lent us his 400w inverter after our 600w inverter burnt itself out. Well today we went to Jaycar in Wangaratta and brought a new 2200 / 1100w inverter and it is work right now driving out computer for "Three Dots".

We took some pictures at Merriwa Park in Wangaratta, the garden area is always worth a walk around...

The ducks like the water here in the park..

If you want to know where we are, just below Harvey Norman car park. Keep left at the round about and turn at the next left...

Once in the car park walk over under Harvey car park and you will see the water way...

A great place for a walk or a picnic Merriwa Park Wangaratta.. (no camping)

Our camp at Whorouly last night and tonight we may stay here a few more day it is very quite, no power only our own solar power... Note the Solar panel on the ground behind the car tomorrow I plan to mount it on the roof like I had it on the Mercedes Benz..

We are the only people at Whorouly right now so they open the showers up in the new area for Carol and I "Hot Shower" it is good here...

All good here now after a bit of a set back with the power, we left White Cliffs a week today it feels like it was a month ago...

Hello to Vicky in White Cliffs you all have fun at the hotel in the morning...

November 16th Friday 2018

Tonight we are set up in a $10 camp in Whorouly VIC about 35km's from Wangaratta. Then we had a bit of a problem the inverter on the solar system burn it self out today. So I yelled help to Scott in Wangaratta he had a small inverter in his car so he drove out to our camp and installed his small inverter.

We are a bit short on solar power and hope the sun shines tomorrow morning and fills the battery... I try buy a new inverter tomorrow some place...

I could have done without the inverter problem but that's life, no reason it happen it just happen.

So I try again tomorrow and try get Three Dots back to normal...

Life is fun so you all have fun....

November 15th Thursday 2018

Not a lot we can say about today but it's all over now, we all buried John today and he was a close friend of mine and it was very hard day for Carol.

He was a nice guy... The church in Wangaratta was full with people. John lived all his life in Wangaratta it was a big day...

We move off early tomorrow morning to a free camp just out of town. For Carol and I we left White Cliffs last Saturday morning after two days of packing and drove to Wangaratta 1190km's away we got here Tuesday and now we move on after we see friends in Wangaratta to, I am not sure...

I try get Three Dots back to normal tomorrow night I may try do it early in the day... We will be using Solar Power tomorrow night and for a few nights...

The ladies Carol went to school with are putting on a dinner on Monday so we will stay in the area...

Life back to normal, for Carol and I but not for Faye, Carol sister but I am sure the girls will talk often..

November 14th Wednesday 2018
Big family day in Wangaratta to the service is in the morning...

We went shopping today in Wangaratta I have new shoes and a new had to wear Carol would not let me wear my dirty old cap tomorrow...

It was early in the morning before 9am so not many people around.

Part of the main street taken with the camera phone today. The shop across the road was a Dick Smith store it is now a 4WD camping shop, will have a look one day soon...

It is a tidy CBD area with a very wide footpath, there are a few empty shop in the main street...

You can find most shops here like Coles, K-Mart, Aldi, Woolworth's, Supercheap Auto, Officeworks... and Bunning's I went shopping there today. I needed an 8mm drill to fit the solar cell to the roof of the new car much like we had on the Mercedes Benz.. (Doug I wish you were here)...

Tomorrow a big day, and we lay a family member to rest...

I say have fun, and I may have to try a new mine set...

November 13th Tuesday 2018
We made it to Wangaratta after a drive of 1150km's a long way with a caravan on the back. We left Saturday Morning, White Cliffs that is, and stopped over night at Cobar, Hillston and Lockhart last night, now we are just out of Wangaratta at a caravan park..

Today we had family comments after the passing of John, Faye husband and brother in law to Carol.. we were at Faye place all afternoon and that was not a problem at all. It's times like this the family needs to stick together...

I seen Scott mid afternoon and he looks to fit.. HaHa...

Everyone in the family will help Faye out, after all it's only time...

I see White Cliffs is have 3.2mm of rain late today that will fill the water tank with about 250lt's of rain water, I have had a number of people in White Cliffs call us over the last 48hr's we left town very quick after John passed away...

Will get the camera out tomorrow and take some pictures...

Have fun, and don't work to hard...

November 12th Monday 2018 (John Day)

From Bill in Queensland

Hi  Rex ,

For a few days now I have been wondering what is leaving these 3 round indentations around one of my tomatoes plants . They were always in the same place and just three very round and fairly deep like a  4” approx. ball has been pressed into the dirt ..even after I leveled it and pressed it down again ..and sprayed  with garlic spray mixture to act as deterrent .

Well tonight I went outside – no lights on just a torch and I snuck up on the culprit ---.... a b big  QLD toad  he must be waiting to catch some sort of insects .tonight again there were 3 holes plus a fourth where the toad was sitting .

So I am going to have to fence him out .

We went out this afternoon and had a look at the wharf mooloolaba  has it has had a facelift new eateries  , ice cream shop no coffee shops but lots of places to consume alcohol . They have latin street food  some new dress shops , a food place called rice boi  lots more oh yea also a boston style bar that was very nice but very up market – not busy .

Have a good night ,

Tonight we are in Lockhart NSW this was the third big day driving in a row I be glade to stop will be there tomorrow.. I like the water tower here at lockhart...

At the Lockhart Caravan Park to night with power it cost $24.00 a night power and water..

The back of the old Caravan taken late today..

Think you will agree it is a very nice Caravan Park here at Lockhart...

Well the locals seem to like it here they go up and down all day and they have green grass and water what else do you need..

One more day driving and we will be there...

Time for a hot shower here at the caravan park, if your up this way come and stay it is a nice town and a very nice Caravan Park.. and it is under $25.00 a night.. Had a great meal at the local hotel at lunch time..

You all have fun..

November 7th Wednesday 2018

We had some bad news last night we lost a good friend John Phillips in Wangaratta, Carol brother in law and husband to Faye a Three Dots reader. We will return to Wangaratta as soon as the caravan packed and ready I am hoping to leave early Saturday..

Today we had rain all day 10mm in total but inside the hallway and the kitchen it took all day to clean up after last evening big dust storm, it was really bad in town...

It rolled in from the West like a monster, turning over water tanks and a number of caravans.. We did ok apart from a mess in the rooms outside we are of, our caravan is all good... I am happy to say almost no dust in the Underground Home we faired really well.

The Proton took a big hit and so did the other car I have cleaned the Proton but notice it has lost it shine a bit the sand took the shine off the cars but a really good polish should fit that up.

How long is it as I said it came from the west and as you can see it is 40kms to the North and it hit homes 30km's to the South 70km's long and we were in the middle...

Tony old caravan turned over on it side a number of caravan's in town turned right over, as I said we faired ok with the caravan not a problem... Tony and Belinda just got a new caravan I am glad it stayed on it's wheels...

We are doing a fast pack and heading off for the summer in the next few days it be Wangaratta first then we will get the map out and do some re planning...

John I am glad you were our friend...

November 6th Tuesday 2018

Back home and we have had a monster dust storm we have a lot of cleaning up to do that will take hours of work tonight the underground is ok... This is on track to hit Sydney and if it does there be hell to play...

We had wind 155kph two homes away Tony caravan has turned over...

Have fun people...

November 5th Monday 2018

A big day doing nothing much Carol had her Eye operation and is back in the motel room tonight, we need to revisit the Broken Hill Hospital in the morning.

If all happy with the Eye I go try sort out the car rego it runs out a few day before Christmas which is a problem as we want to hook up the caravan soon and head South for the summer we will sort it out tomorrow morning...

Thanks for all the comments from up the hill here at Broken Hill below are the rest of the pictures taken up the hill yesterday.

Up top of the hill over looking Broken Hill a very upmarket Restaurant it was closed but it has now re-open. You are about 200ft above the town...

The Broken Hill railway yards from the hill...

This pictures is taken from the hill (old BHP mine) the hill with a point is around 40km's West of Broken Hill and taken with the zoom power of the camera, the hill range behind that is in South Australia, not a great picture but it is a long way a way...

If you have been to Broken HIll you will most likely know this seat on the hill it around 14ft high at the back it is a big monster that's for sure...

Broken Hill Post Office clock tower it's a grand old building no matter how you look at it....

I hope late tomorrow we can head home to White Cliffs we need to leave by 3pm or we need to stay an extra night...

Hope you all pick the winner of the Melbourne Cup tomorrow and have some fun...

Tomorrow another day...

November 4th Sunday 2018

Yes we are in Broken Hill and for the last three hours we have had no internet, but we are all go now a bit after 7pm South Australian Time... We are 30min's behind NSW time...

The car fantastic, we sat on 105kph for 300km's and not a problem touch wood...

Went up on top of the old BHP mine and took some pictures (you can drive up top) the club below is where we went for lunch today this is the main CBD of Broken Hill...

The Broken Hill rail yards today, look at the size of the Target Coles complex it is about three years old and already the major shopping plaza in Broken Hill.

Looking to the East side of the CBD area it is a inland city and well worth a visit...

When you see this picture of Broken Hill you see how many dips there are in the town. There are some nice old building in the city you need a good week to see the area...

Where else could it happen other than the Outback in Australia, with a lack of water the wild life has come into the City area looking for food and water..

We went past at a slow walking pace looks at the local homes...

Carol took the pictures today from the car around town...

Tomorrow we will be at the hospital...

Susan is now in Canberra at motel and looking for a place to live, start's work in the morning...

Sorry I am late but out of my control, so you all have fun..

November 3rd Saturday 2018

A lot better today I worked from 6am on the caravan lights and 3hr's later they are all fixed it took a lot of finding the problem. Reason I had two problems one a broken wire and the other bad wire ing of the plug on the car (ye it was my fault) but after three hours all fixed I now have tail lights and stop lights ....

Most of the morning I worked on the caravan then at 10am we went for coffee with friends (I needed the break) we now have a gas bottle, and the spare wheel is under my bed inside the van down the back... Had to off set some more weight.. The max weight on the tow ball now by law is 200kg...

Look close can you find two kangaroos looking at me from the house next door, this also shows how many rocks there are around our place...

Looking down the hill I find our little mate halfway down the hill... We feed it and so does the people who live next door...

Water in town is starting to dry up we have only had 48mm rain total in 2018 and it is starting to dry up.. We are right till we leave for the summer but rain this week will help...

We are off to Broken Hill for a few day in the morning (medical trip) and will take the new car for a big run that's 600kms return trip.. I fitted the GPS to the car today and checked all the oil's and as we are looking for a trouble free trip...

Susan off to Canberra tomorrow afternoon...

So tomorrow night it be Three Dots for Broken Hill..

November 2nd Friday 2018

November 1st Thursday 2018

November is here and it's getting a lot hotter in White Cliffs that's for sure. Up at 5:30am to try beat the heat of the day 40c this afternoon...

I got into the caravan doing heaps of stuff to get it's on the road and move the weight off the tow ball, it takes a lot to setup a new tow car, mirrors and lights (and I still have a problem the side lights on the caravan are not working) all the lights on the back of the caravan are working fine.

The tow safety chain had to be fixed up, but all done I took it for a drive 15km's to the South on the Opal Miners Way... Perfect all good.

I took this 15kms south of home all good at last. The new bigger tyres lift the back of the caravan a bit but I am happy with that...

The car is near level and fitted with it's new mirrors for towing, a big mirror on the right and a smaller mirror on the left side... The car sat on 85 to 90kph and and the temperature gauge never moved the automatic fine.. If over summer it goes like it did today I be very happy... I like the way it near level...

Yes one of them and a small rock moves them on they are selling $150.00 each I am told well there are about 40 in White Cliffs eating everything...

Near the local tip today no rain not a drop but they say end of the week, let it rain about 20mm ...

I am so happy to see the caravan on the road at last all the work started when we lost the Mercedes Benz and then it was like the Never Ending Story...

We go to Broken Hill Sunday (Carol Eye) and back Tuesday afternoon next week but we have to fit in with the doctors..

Have fun, be happy, I sure am with the car and van today...
