Thursday 31st January 2019 Last day of the month

Today we went for a drive to Huskisson around 40km's from our caravan park in Sussex Inlet. We enjoyed Huskisson it is sure the best place to visit in the local area.

Nice picture the open water of Jervis Bay is off to the right.

Jervis bay leads out to open water...

A very nice park in Huskisson Voyager Memorial Park near the main street of Huskisson..

Took this looking back at the CBD of Huskisson...

I like one of those boats I live on it...

Taken from Huskisson looking out to Jervis Bay.. (Carol Picture)...

Huskisson has a very good shopping area, Carol wanted a ANZ Bank but the bank in the area are closed with the nearest ANZ around 50km's away...

White Cliffs had a cooler day 35.7c that's the first time under 40c for some time...

A family down on the beach just having fun...

I like this picture taken at the beach just outside Sussex Inlet...

About 300m from our old caravan people try their luck at fishing and some are better at it than others.

Carol and I where around 100m from this fish so I turned on the zoom to take a picture, nice fish...

It's not my job to comment but a baby on board.... The power of zoom...

Bet he a local fisherman...

Thursday 24th January 2019

We had an easy day drove around Moss Vale and had lunch at the local club. took some pictures and took some from the net..

..Beside the main street in Moss Vale...

..

..
All taken in Moss Vale the last picture is a mini railway in Moss Vale it could do with a big cleanup... Taken at the Moss Vale Showgrounds today...

Tomorrow we move on just not sure where yet as most places are booked out for the long weekend... So we will leave very early and head towards the NSW coast below Sydney...

So tomorrow it's on the road again...

Have fun, Australia Day Saturday 26th January...

Wednesday 23rd January 2019

We moved from the caravan park in Moss Vale to the showgrounds the park said $38.00 (and we did not like it) the Showgrounds said $25 night and we do like it... We save $26 over the next two night... I do not mind staying at a local showgrounds, this one only has 12 camping sites... All Full

No wonder there is a heap of cuttings under a tree neat or camp...

We went for a drive and found out three towns are joined as one, Moss Vale, Bowral and Mittagong are all one I am not sure where they start and finish...

The seed signs are very hard to work out I seen 60kph and a 100m up the road seen 80kph, then we passed the 80kph sign I seen 50kph... So I slowed to 35 to 40 and stayed there...

We then went to Robertson for lunch to Australian Winning Pie Shop, it was hard to find...

The food was really good and I did have a pie, not cheap but really small and good food..

Looking up the road in Robertson today..

The side roads are very narrow once you are off the main road...

We are here tonight and tomorrow night at the showgrounds and then head to the coast on Friday Morning and try find a camp site, that could be hard on a long weekend.

The say big rain in Canberra tonight, We were told 41c in Wangaratta today the same as White Cliffs...

You all have fun...

Tuesday 22nd January 2019

Well we left Yass and headed north towards Sydney stopping at Moss Vale south of Sydney tonight at the caravan park...

The Hume Freeway today south of Sydney, a nice road... Just after taking this picture we were hit by a mass group of flying grass hoppers and the sure made a mess of the car 1000s of grass hoppers...

As you can see they have a lot of green grass and they tell us how dry it is, they do not know what dry is...

And the sign says Moss Vale where we are tonight...

And the last of the Mini Rail pictures that Doug sent us from Queensland....

The Mini Rail station is a very busy place apart from the customers it takes a lot of people just to run the day..

I hope to visit the rail one day ...

There's always a group of people in the background helping to run the day...

Thanks Doug it always good to put your pictures on Three Dots I know a lot of people see them and comment, Three Dots has about 100 readers a week...

We are here tonight and we have another booking for the next two nights Wednesday and Thursday night but Friday to Monday still a big question mark everywhere we ring is booked out for the long weekend...

We will go somewhere...

You all have fun...

Monday 21st January 2019

Back into Canberra today and we went and seen where Susan works in Canberra... I enjoyed the tour of the building today just good fun...

Carol took some pictures from the car today on the way back home...

The road from Yass towards Canberra it was a dry day with a lot of bugs hitting the windscreen.

In Canberra looking at big phone tower on the hill what's it call Red Hill or is it Black Range Hill???

Looking down Anzac Parade ...

On the way home we hit the NSW / ACT border on the way...

It's sure not a great road on the NSW side, the Hume Freeway a much better road...

We leave tomorrow and head up to some where towards Sydney so tomorrow a new town on our road trip... Still looking for cooler weather hope we find it soon...

Still over 40c in White Cliffs, they had weeks of over 40c... up as high as 48c...

Petrol up here is $1.399 that's unleaded 91 fuel...

Time to move up to the North East just below Sydney in the hope of cooler weather...

Have fun...

We started the day out in Adelong NSW to night we are in the caravan park in Yass west of Canberra and it was 39c so close to that hot 40c. We drove from Adelong to Yass around 135km's the way we came.

Made one stop on the way over "The Dog On The Tuckerbox" I pulled up and had a look for old time sake.

At the Yass Caravan Park it is near full tonight we rang and booked last night... Doug that looks like your bus...

It a bus with a car on the back the trailer lifts the front wheels (front wheel drive) off the ground the free running back wheels are on the ground, Adrian and Doug may like the picture...

Doug thanks for the picture's Kings Beach Queensland...

You sure live in a nice area of Queensland, real nice area...

I still have some train picture to put up on Three Dots... Good Stuff...

When you see this picture you see the amount of track the guys and girls have built up in Queensland...

The local council must love what you are doing to lay in cement walk ways around the mini railway...

Tomorrow we are moving closer to Canberra the show grounds we always stay at in Canberra area are closed till February they have the town show on and a Country and Western Festival after the show...

So we will find new camp in the area, plan to see Adam and Susan when in the area...

Today we went to the Royal Hotel for lunch, good meal... The owner Hindmash's we worked out are related to Carol, yep it is a small world... They had a good air cooler so we stayed for a while, thanks for the free ice cream...

We got some rain last night and hope we get more tonight....

You all have fun this weekend...

Thursday 17th January 2019

Adelong as I write this trying to rain but nothing as yet maybe five drops... We had a $10 lunch at the local RSL club here in town...

That's the RSL on the right of picture.

The main street of Adelong on a very hot day...

I say a hotel but a home today well up top is...

Up the road on the right an old Hotel now a great private home on the right...

The town has a Bendigo Bank, Newsagency and Supermarket...

Another hotel on the right and still a Hotel and we may have lunch there tomorrow...

When you think about Adelong it's full of old pubs some still pubs, every town has a Royal Hotel...

We will move from this area on Saturday it's just to hot there is no way we can free camp without an air cooler...

Come on rain, rain that's what we need...

Adelong not bad but only worth a two day stay....

Have fun...

Wednesday 16th January 2019

Today was all about the drive from Junee to Adelong where we are staying the next three days at the caravan park on a powered site, it is just to hot 44c today to camp without power and no air cooler...

Only a short drive near 80km's the blue line on the map but I will add this to my great drive list sitting on 70 to 80kph the car and caravan perfect... Gee that car got power for towing it's starting to grow on me very slowly...

The road a bit narrow in places..

All pictures today are by Carol in a very dirty car (it rained in Junee for about 10sec but it rained mud last night)

The road for a great trip on a very hot day...

A slow drive in parts with the caravan on the back (the head up display tells the story 47kph )..

This make a good Australian Calendar picture.

This was a bit of a shock the crossing of the Murrumbidgee River I better not wonder sideways here..

Carol took the picture but I don't think she like the river crossing..

On the other side of the Murrumbidgee River few nice spots to camp...

Here is another picture of Australia great picture..

We are a long way from anywhere you fid a rubbish tip or what they call in now...

This is the crossing of the Hume Freeway highway 31 Melbourne to Sydney... take care crossing here...

On to Adelong about 30km's from here...

It a slow trip on this road with a caravan up hill down hill sharp turns all the way to Adelong...

We made it a great drive apart from the Hume Freeway we seen about five cars the whole trip... Thanks to the camera lady you did a good job....

More tomorrow on the town Adelong and the caravan park...

Have fun, we did today apart from the heat...

Tuesday 15th January 2019

We were up early and did some shopping in the old part of Junee near the railway station we went to the chemist shop in town... While on the old side I took out the camera...

The Junee Post Office a very old building it has four old chimney stack...

In this area a number of old banks and hotels have been turned into private homes.

This old hotel is getting a really big reno job right now it looks like it will be a private home..

Across the road this old hotel is getting a big rebuild the doors are locked and it does not seem to be trading as a hotel...

Looking at the railway station from the other side of town...

I think the heat has got to the Mobil Petrol Station I was filling up when it went crazy Unleaded $1.11lt Diesel $1.20lt there is a new servo open in town and they have a real war going on in Junee...

We move off tomorrow morning someplace but not sure about the heat outside in the shade right now 44c, I know we are all hot... Going out tonight to somewhere for a meal but it will need to have a good air condition...

We may need to look at where we are going with the heat, it is near the same as White Cliffs here...

Tomorrow we are heading for the hills looking for cooler weather...

This is going to be a fun week...

Monday 14th January 2019

We left Albury and on our road trip for this year, tonight we are in Junee for two nights North of Albury Wodonga and north of Wagga Wagga. But it is still very hot 41c today, I went and had a swim in the park pool to cool off this afternoon.

We left Kylie and Troy place at 6:30am this morning to beat the heat of the day... Car and caravan perfect to day the car towed the caravan with ease...

The sign tell the whole story the Junee Licorice Factory...

It's a very big old building..

You can sit inside or outside...

Joyce no rabbit but a big pig...

Coffee table outside.

Inside you can buy heaps of food...

How this for an old fuel pump...

The lake beside the caravan park and full of fish..

And here the odd story of the day, that's our white caravan and then about three hours after we setup another caravan turns up next door "Friends we know from White Cliffs" yep two family from White Cliffs, they left to beat the heat and we both end up side by side over a 1000km's south of White Cliffs, Doug and Bev...

We stayed in Junee last year about two weeks this year we will be here two nights the we are heading into the hill someplace...

They say 42c here tomorrow...

Wednesday 9th January 2019

From Doug in Queensland..

Hi Rex, here’s some photos from last weekend. I’ll break it into 4 parts so that it won’t break the system!

Starts with a shot of a local drug addict, out of it at the rear of the toilet block, during our clean-up day on Saturday. he was gone on Sunday, but then we had to get rid of his drugs/needles/syringes etc that he left lying around, so that kids couldn't’t get hold of them!! A real problem for us. Police help when they can.

You can see in some photos the new footpath which Council are laying through the park. Not yet complete. Designed for oldies with electric scooters, but will probably be used by kids on bikes & scooters.
Council also have supplied us with a brand new shipping container (only made in Hong Kong in August, used once!) (near my Coaster).
It was a very hot day, didn’t use my train. Had enough without it.

Enjoy the photos, pity about the hazy air quality.

Hope you don't mind I did the blur job on his face, gee we live in a sick world at times...

A Victoria V Line on the rails in Queensland, good fun...

That's what it is all about kids having fun and looking at the picture they are having fun...

Great picture and they are having fun....

I put the rest of Doug pictures up over the next week...

Carol and I went to Wangaratta today to a funeral then back home the car was great so I think we can say job done at last.. Think everyone should own a OBD2 reader...

The kids will be back home soon and we will hit the road with the caravan on the back...

That's our day and you all have fun...

Tuesday 8th January 2019

Went for a drive today to Corowa down river from Albury Wodonga they had an "Art Festival" on in the main street it was good more for Carol than I, she into the art festival but I did see a few things we can do in White Cliffs...

Inside the hall at Corowa...

Its a nice old hall in the main street there was some good art on display..

This is made of plastic straws on display at the hall..

Outside next door at Woolworth's Supermarket..

It's 50km Wodonga to Corowa and the car perfect to drive... We are doing well with the car I must admit that I was thinking about selling it at one stage...

Peter and Joi who read Three Dots in Melbourne sent me the picture below...

I have to go visit the coffee shop, thanks Peter for the picture... Great Stuff...

Back home in Albury we had some rain but not a lot....

You all have fun...

Monday 7th January 2019

Good news the car was good all day I am so happy and we will hit the road next Monday early with the caravan well that the plan anyway. We missed Plan A so we went to Plan B and that got stuffed up so we are now working on Plan C....

In Wodonga we went and had a look at Sumsion Gardens near the Highway to Melbourne...

Like many parks they are starting to dry up and need rain... Over the back is a football oval...

One man dream I just read looking to the north...

Almost every trip to this area we visit the lake and gardens...

It is an area you must visit in Wodonga...

Someone added a lot of water in this area if you walk up here you will end up in the Wodonga CBD area...

Kids playground by the lake... There is also a very big playground about 200m away for kids and the big kids at heart..

We had morning tea with Ian and Pauline from Canberra today and hope we can meet up with them while we are away and do some camping together like we did last year at Junee, NSW, nice people...

Were going out to Adrian and Dianne place this week and clean up the caravan and get ready to move off on Monday next... Moving some where up in the hills in the hope we will have cooler weather and free camping...

All good here and you all have fun...

Sunday 6th January 2019

Happy birthday to my granddaughter Joyce, she a big 8yr old today (hope I got that right) when I was at her place today she was having a good time...

We all know Bernie in Howlong dog Zac. He hanging in there but is a very sick dog and has been part of Three Dots the four or five years, Zac keep fighting....

I got a new OBD Code reader on eBay for $28.00 and it worked telling us the problem with the car was coils on the motor, the red pointers in the picture above point to the coils I fitter three (it has three) new coils today and it seem to work so far we drove the car around 50km's today after the repair and it worked fine. Keep our fingers crossed.. As you can see in the picture the coils are not easy to get at, the next few days will tell the story...

Thanks to everyone who sent an email last night about the "Underground Home" we loved your comments I am going to ask around people in White Cliffs who also live underground in the hope they will send us some pictures even one or two pictures. We love our life in White Cliffs...

From Doug in Queensland:

Taken in Queensland today what a great train, love the colour and a heap of fun for all the kids, love to see more Doug....

The car running all ok so I am a bit happier tonight that took a lot of work...

Have Fun

Saturday 5th January 2019

A lot cooler day in Albury Wodonga in fact it was a cooler day across Australia. We are out and worked on the car fitting one of three bad coils, it did not fix the problem which I was really upset about. It is a big job for me and takes a lot of time... So tomorrow I go back to the shed and replace coil two and three...

I have had a number of readers new to Three Dots ask about the underground home in White Cliffs, so I went back and found some pictures I took late last year...

The house is some 28ft underground in White Cliffs NSW Australia, one person who asked for pictures is from Russia...

The roof in the dining room is around 10 to 12ft high

This is our guest bedroom it is a good size room about 10ft high. We used a lot of cement in the room from up top to the floor is 28ft close to 10m ....

The same room looking out the doorway it is 23c all year round and has no heating all cooling but we do run three fans in the house to mover the air around...

Looking from the master bedroom towards the lounge room I am unsure why we have a blue light as the rooms are all white and white light just the light playing tricks...

Only one side of the lounge room where we sit and read (and drink coffee) I hope it will be all finished by this time next year...

Our problem this year will be water if we do not get some good rain we may not even return this year it's that bad...

Water is the biggest problem I first went to White Cliffs in 1993 buying the land in 1995 we have never run out of water but it may well happen this year 2019...

I hope you like the underground home there are no big machine use I build all most all of it by hand, it is a converted Opal Mine and was mine around the 1860...

So tomorrow back to the car...

I am not so sure that we are having fun with the car but I try smile and try again...

Friday 4th January 2019

We all know about today it can be summed up in a word HOT.... a really bad day... Some good news the part for my car turned up this morning but just to hot to go fit it today I fit the coil tomorrow...

Susan went to the Royal Australian Mint and sent me some pictures from Canberra, thanks Susan great stuff.

Royal Australian Mint in Canberra

Only one word for this Money Money Money.... Must be a million dollar here... (I think this is the end of the rainbow.)

Where they print notes in Canberra, gee there mean no samples...

To hot today to go anywhere other than the shop to buy cold drinks. Birallee Park Shopping Centre...

Birallee Park Hotel maybe a good place tomorrow when it hits a high 44c they say...

Maybe a $1 Frozen Drink at Birallee Park McDonald's there's a lot in this area and some nice parks not far away.

Birallee Park Service Station all part of the complex...

The complex is on Melrose Drive Wodonga and behind the Big Mac, It has a Coles Supermarket and Chemist, Newsagency and other shops... One thing it does have is a good $2 type shop it is very well stocked...

We go there maybe one or two times a week...

Sorry I am late it's just been hot and hotter tomorrow....

Tuesday 1st January 2018 opp's 2019...

It was a really hot one in Albury Wodonga today and even hotter in White Cliffs (home) NSW I have setup "Three Dots" for another year, that took a few hours work today but it is only a once a year job...

Last night we went out with Adrian and Dianne for the new year and had a meal at the club in Albury, it was a really good night.

The new car we are having trouble with a hot coil in the motor it has three coils and two are ok and one get really hot I have a set of three coming from Sydney they will be here on Wednesday or Thursday this week and I replace the hot one. It is an easy job to do maybe 30min's work when it gets here... I can still drive the car but it has a miss in the motor from the bad coil...

Been talking to people in White Cliffs over the last two weeks and all the talk is about land rights it the same talk we had three years ago we are all trying to get free title to our land... So all the talk just keeps going on and on...

Where did we go today we had lunch down on the Murray River at Albury and we seen Muffy (my sister) and then it was a visit to Thurgoona to see Troy, Kylie and Joyce...

Tonight back in Wodonga but it is sure no cooler... We will leave the Albury Area in two week and head up in the hills around Adalong we will travel till about end of May and return to White Cliffs...

The New Year has started so make sure you have some fun this year...
