September 30th Sunday and the end of the month.

We went for Sunday Coffee at the White Cliffs Hotel and it was our biggest group ever, we had 18 people on the table today... great stuff.

Back home and after lunch I worked on the hallway, and then I had a bright spot in my life my 4" angle grinder went out with a big bang a sheet of flame and smoke gee I had it just over 20yrs and it went out with a big bang, you think it last longer then that. It's got no brand on it, but you have to be happy with over 20yr's it's a el-cheap.

So I am now looking for a new way to cut cement sheet and cut roofing iron..

That sure slow down the work here till I find a new one.

End of the month and I had some good pictures sent to me...

One of our best Kangaroo pictures..

This sure my best ever moon pictures, and later tonight I am going to try Venus it's in the West Sky tonight I give it ago with the new camera even if I can see it's round I be happy...

In September I did my first class in Lead Lighting I am keen to give it a go over the summer break....

Then late after I was cleaning up and the vacuum cleaner stopped, seem we had a broken wire in the lead.. It's White Cliffs you try fix it and after an hour it now running like new...

Well time to try my Venus picture I let you all know tomorrow...

A new Month, New Week so you all have fun...

September 29th Saturday 2018 and Adrian is a year older.

It was coffee at Red Earth then I sat down and watched the football, next year on this day Geelong, ar I said that last year....

At Red Earth Opal and Coffee Shop today that a lot of money, and the two big stones on the right have no price in the $1000s and $1000s

Here the lower end of the market but still nice Opal $50 to $90 range ...

Outside the Opal Shop the meet er and greeter's who live here.. The kids love them...

After lunch I installed the GPS in the new 4WD it's neat and tidy.. A Tomtom GPS I feel they are the best out here..

The football is over and a win to WA as I said next year it Geelong, well maybe....

Out tonight at the White Cliffs Hotel with Vicki, Tony and nurse "B" no reason...

You all have fun this weekend ....

Adrian you have a great birthday in Albury...

September 28th Friday 2018

I just have news that my daughter Susan has landed from New Zealand... Back to work on Monday and then start packing and the big move to Canberra..

The big news in town will it rain in White Cliffs remember we have only had 37mm so far this years, the wild life are sitting and looking to the sky..

Looking from our place we are looking for rain..

This is looking to the East and this weather has past us, it looks like rain but it is not hitting the ground...

It should rain today after all I washed the car today with a bucket of water, it looks nice and clean..

The ladies raise money for local farmers they raffled three local art works as a fund raiser over the last few weeks.... The winner was the Martins from West Australia... They get all three art works for their home...

Well done ladies, you did a good job...

Just been told Troy who been in Melbourne Hospital will return home with Scott and Susan tonight...

Tomorrow coffee and we hope we drive there in mud, but so far not a drop to be seen..

I asked a car wrecker could he find me a tow bar for a Hyundia Terracan and she rank me back there's one in Albury but that's a long way a way.. (my words I take it...)

Adrian who lives in Albury said he pick it up for me...

September 27th Thursday 2018

Up early well for me early 6:30am and outside working on the hall way (hot day) I blocked off the roof on the East side and tonight it is looking good. As I block the holes up it is getting darker inside the hallway I have to look into some lighting soon another trip to the eBay store, well that's the only shop out here...

Have a look at Mitre 11 (that's what we call the tip)... The council have sorted it out and we have sign's "Tyres" that's the biggest heap of rubber I have ever seen out here.

And here is the "Steel" section at the tip, the tip is unmanned and free to dump in..

"White Goods" I guess that means we have to sort out our rubbish now behind me there is a big hole for "General Waste" and a big hole "Green Waste" we are getting flash in White Cliffs...

Yesterday, your right they are "Tenpin Bowling Balls" sitting on top of two gas cylinders in my old days I played a lot of ten pin bowling the black one on the left was a gift for my 14th Birthday from my mother and father.. Now 69... I let you work it out. The one on the right about 40yr's old... for years they were in bags but I took them out the other day the bags have fell apart and now in the tip... So Frank there the answer to your question...

The temperature today 31c and a very blue sky.

On my way back from the tip I saw a red flash (thing it maybe a fire) in the sun about 2km away I stopped and put the camera on full zoom for a better look. here my red flash as I said around 2km's away.. Still not sure what it is but it is not a fire..

Taken beside my trailer tonight a very small kangaroo it's a day the scraps get tossed out and the bucket full of water he getting a little bit bigger...

Susan you have a good trip home from New Zealand tomorrow afternoon... I hear your been doing 360s one river in a power boat.. You sure had a fun trip. Now it's home and move to Canberra to live with work...

You all have fun tomorrow it's Friday and the weekend is here..

September 26th Wednesday 2018

I was up and out side working by 8am this morning on the hallway I have fitted all the big sheets and now working on filling in all the small bit's in the hallway..

Looking towards the entry to the underground home the wall on the right walking towards the door is finished all it needs is a paint job. The wall on the left is sealed up but I need to fill the gaps at the top of the wall, that's tomorrow job..

Looking towards the storage room that will have a wall and door soon, across the hallway from the ladder you turn right and walk into the kitchen... Yes it will have a roof and finished by the end of next week to lockup stage... Next year I fit plaster to the inside of the walls and plaster on the roof, as I said next year for that, buying a new car was not in this year budget but it had to happen...

Looking the other way towards the East wall this is where I will work tomorrow morning notice the gap at the top of the wall...

The English White Cedar trees came out in flower over the last two day, we had five down the East side last year two did not make it, three did. They do not need to much water as we have now only had 37mm in 2018.. And right now we are the fifth dry est place on earth...

Susan my daughter is in New Zealand and sent me these pictures...

Well, if you were meant to fly you have feathers

I was told 134m in 8sec, as a father I will make no comment and I am glad I was not there..

Well that's dots for today and thank you all for the comments of the moon picture last night...

You all have fun...

September 24th Monday 2018

There is a lot of talk about the old White Cliffs Solar Power Station been cleaned up and open to the public...

Right now it's a bit of a mess weed and salt bush this power station once run the town of White Cliffs but was closed down after Solar Panels came on the market..

The old White Cliffs power station, was once a World Leader in Solar power..

The solar cells still stand today but the area needs to be cleaned up..

I hope it will be cleaned up and open to the public it is all still there for people to look at...

I hope the government does the right think this time. The National party came to town saying we have $5.5m for a new water system in White Cliffs nothing happen. There is no way I vote for the National Party next time, they treat the people of White Cliffs like a pack of dills...

The Kangaroos are on the move all over town, there is a full moon tomorrow night.

Remember I said I would not buy a new car in White Cliffs due to the roads have a look at the road dust, rocks, ruts, it is so hard on a car here... Where we live look at the far left near the top, our White Caravan and the road down from home where I lost the Mercedes Benz a month ago.

There a saying around the Kangaroos, If we stand still they will not see us. This is just below home...

Still no rain, and tomorrow a full moon, I get the new camera out...

Have fun be happy...

September 23rd Sunday 2018

Went down to the White Cliffs Hotel for coffee this morning with a group of locals all great people to know... Back home I fixed a set of draws the base hat come out of one draw.. It's all fixed and just need to let the glue dry then carol can use it again...

After the draw and after lunch I went back to work on the new hall way to the new kitchen I fitted a door to the outside workshop from the hallway, I am keen to cut some Opal and make some gold and silver item for our own use.. I am also keen to try lead lighting with copper foil when building the new hall way I came across the area I can use as a outside workshop..

Taken in Broken Hill on the old camera phone...

The old phone is not as good as the new camera...

A water garden in Broken Hill...

This week I am going to get stuck into the hallway and try get it done I going to ask Peter a friend two give me a hand with the roof think it needs two people...

Hello to Troy in Melbourne Hospital you be back home soon.

Hello to Faye and John in Wangaratta...

You all have fun...

September 22nd Saturday 2018

Over the last few days I mixed all the days up, just put them in order... The pictures below I took on Friday on the way home from Broken Hill... We went to coffee this morning at Red Earth Cafe and Opal Shop...

As I said a few more pictures taken yesterday..

This is called Do lo Hill about 100km's from Broken Hill on the way home there not much living out here.

The salt bush is the only thing left and it is starting to die..

Carol took this from the car yesterday, I was sitting on the speed limit yesterday 110kph and a car passed me doing around 200mph. Silly people...

First Emu I have seen in month's they are just so big around 7ft high maybe even more...

The outback is turning into a red beach the odd tree but no grass to be seen...

A bit more of the great inland beach..

I took this above home today salt bush and the odd tree it makes a good picture...

I had around 20 goats away from home today there are more and more coming into town... I went out with a shovel and moved them on...

A few people we know are starting to move on for the summer it was 28c outside today and 22c underground but if you live out on the Opal Fields in a tin roof house it be a bit hot....

Need a tow bar for a Hyundai Terracan I just about to start looking on the internet...

We have one more big trip left and that's to pickup the Proton Car that is still in Albury... So it be a ride into Broken Hill, then train to Albury via Sydney pick up the car and drive it to White Cliffs...

Hope you are all having a good weekend...

Have fun..

September 21st Friday 2018

Back home from Broken Hill, Carol seen the hospital and we are stocked with food so we can eat up tonight... The Hyundai went well today we had a good trip home I did slow down today no need for a rush after all we had all day... I filled the car with fuel and it used 12.5lt's per 100km sitting on 100 to 105km per hour... So far all good with the new car...

Over the last week or two I have been blaming the roo's and goats for digging up our trees.. We got home and guess who had dug up another tree, Eric the Echidna had ripped out another tree and under the tree there was 1000s of ants... I water the tree the ants get into the wet soil the Echidna get's in the ants... So I am told it's all my fault...

On he road today I pulled up for a walk and this is what I found tired to a post in the middle of no where.. I have seen this before but do not understand what it means...

So back home we drove the new car 1700km's in five days that's sure a good work-out...

All good here, coffee tomorrow, then I get back to work...

You all have fun this weekend...

September 20th Thursday 2018

It was out of bed and head for Broken Hill in the Hyundai Terracan all went well with the car, but it sure needs a wash now after all the dust...

First stop today was the broken Hill RTA office where I handed in the number plates to the old Mercedes Benz to the RTA office I then put the new car in my name it has 3mth's rego... It fall due just before Christmas so in December I do the rego for six month and move it back to June...

Did a bit more shopping then it was off to the Hospital where they checked out Carol and say the will ring her and remove the cataract before Christmas...

We booked in the motel for the night after a trip to Coles Supermarket.

The front of the motel where we are staying tonight...

I like the free WiFi bit this is the first time we have stayed here. (note the moon)

I am told a bus will be pulling up next to us tonight we are in the corner... All rooms are booked...

Looking the other way at the rest of the Motel Rooms..

This is the main road from Sydney to Perth and a very old area...

In this area some home sell as low as $30,000 a unit $25,000

You have to wonder three homes in this block of five are for sale around $25,000

The main road your looking towards Sydney...

I seen this above Broken Hill this afternoon and took a quick shot with the new camera, "The Moon"

Tomorrow it's pickup our order from the Supermarket then head for home...

The weekend is near and I am looking forward to a rest, it has been a really big week...

You all have fun, more tomorrow...

September 19th Wednesday 2018

Sorry to be so late but out of my control we had no Internet in town early tonight, it is back up just hope it stays up...

Did a bit on the car today checked the oil water and all the rest, all good needed nothing at all I also removed the back, back seats, it had 2 in the front, then three in the back, and two more in the very back a 7 seater in total... Removed seat 6 and 7 in the far back we need that room for our ice box when we travel into town for food.

And that is where we go tomorrow into Broken Hill Carol is getting a cataract removed before Christmas and the doctor wants to see her.... So we are off to Broken Hill stay the night back home on Friday...

This has been a hard week with all the traveling, in Broken Hill tomorrow I have to hand the plates in for the old car...

We are going to do some shopping food wise then head home Friday...

You seen this picture 12mth's ago well it happen while we were away again I went around the yard picked up and tools and hardware sitting it in the trailer well my trailer now has tools and hardware but no box again, yep the Kangaroo's have eaten the box again...

The tree you see in this picture has been eaten, two wild goats one standing on the back of the other so it can get height to eat the trees...

The goats have eaten most of our tree's as well... I give up on tree's this year and look at it next year...

From Broken Hill tomorrow, you all have fun...

September 18th Tuesday 2018

A really big day, we drove the 800km's from Orange to home via Dubbo my biggest trip in years. We got the car midday yesterday and have driven it a total of 1,040km's to home...

Like driving to anywhere in the outback you lock the speed on 110kph and let it go, not to many corners as you see in the picture above...

That the new car and it went like clock work all day today...

It is a 4WD V6 motor 3500cc I read in the book... Now to find a tow bar...

This road is just on big line

Bugs all over the wind screen and that's White Cliffs ahead... Today 800km, from the time we picked it up 1040km's and all is well.. For the record 13.0 lt's per 100km's....

From Cobar to White Cliffs to 348km's and one turn...

Big sleep tonight, hello to Troy in Melbourne Hospital and Hello to John in Wangaratta...

Rest day tomorrow then it's off to Broken Hill on Thursday...

Have Fun...

September 17th Monday 2018

The new car Hyundia Terracan Auto 4x4... I took this picture from the Internet below..

This is the car, we drove it from Sydney to Orange where we booked in a motel for the night and all is good, it will tow the same weight as the Mercedes Benz 2,500kg so out caravan only half that weight... Lot of room inside and I feel it looks good, as for how good it is time will tell.

Sydney to Orange is a good road other than crossing the mountains just west of Sydney...

People around here say how dry it is they do not know what dry is they still have grass..

Carol the one with the camera she better with it than I am...

I sat on 110kph most of the day doing just over 200km today..

It a good road to Bathurst than to Orange...

We need to fit a tow bar in the next few weeks but I am happy to do that.. There are so many really cheap tow bars out there, I require a very strong tow bar...

The motel last night was good... Thanks to Peter and Joi in Melbourne, thanks to Scott for finding the car, thanks to Muffy for putting up with us in Albury.. Thanks to Kylie for driving us around Albury to the railway station. Thanks to Adrian and Dianne for looking after Carol car...

The list goes on and on.... the people who helped... It all started 3 1/2 wk's ago when I crashed the Mercedes Benz..

Thanks to a heap of people it's good to have friends...

Have fun...

September 16th Sunday 2018

This will be quick I am very late the train got in at 8:15pm tonight we are now in our room but more on that later..

The day started off at my sisters in Albury Wodonga we went for a walk this morning in Albury.

This is a picture of Dean Street the main street in Albury taken from the bridge at the East end of town it's not a bad picture...

This was taken from the train North of Junee it was taken out of the glass window...

Pulled up at Gunning railway station this afternoon, it was a good trip on the train today ...

North of Gunning look at the green grass we need to move White Cliffs here but no wild life to be seen no sheep even.

Goulburn railway station two hours from Sydney...

Taken from my seat on the train we went first class this trip...

Shocking picture taken from our room tonight... Sydney by night...

Tomorrow we go look at the car we are thinking of buying to replace the Mercedes Benz, but it is a long way short of a Mercedes...

It was a really good trip from Albury on the train .... I am really late so you all have fun next week...

September 15th Saturday 2018

Lot of stress today but I have a new car on hold in Sydney. Just hope it is a good one, the Mercedes Benz was good till 275,000km's then it had a number of problems and in the last ten seconds it had a major problem.. Finding a good used car is hard it's all a bit of a guess...

I walk out front of where we are staying late today and took this picture looking East, note green grass that the first green grass we have seen in month... And it did rain here today maybe a 100 drops but it did rain in Albury.

Same place looking West tonight note the clock tower at the railway station it's real small...

I hit zoom on the camera and look at the birds up on the ledge I always get asked what camera Canon SX430is..

I liked this tree at my sisters place Plum Tree I am told...

Taken today on the same tree, Good picture... Plum Tree...

Small garden out front I love to have this in White Cliffs but that will never happen...

A bit of a play shot taken from East Albury of homes in West Albury about 8km's away as I said just a bit of fun...

Tomorrow we head to Sydney on the train leaving the Proton here in Albury, then on Monday we will check the car out and head towards Broken Hill.. We have agree on the price and we are both happy with that... Later tomorrow we will be on the train so I have to see how we go with Three Dots... I have the computer and gear with me so we will see how we go... It maybe three dots railway style, I try it...

The car is coming from a car dealer and is not a private sale on the Internet, I will never waste my time trying to buy a private car on the Internet again...

Seen my brother Aub today, that was good ...

You all have fun this weekend....

September 14th Friday 2018

We are in Albury Wodonga tonight and all is well, left Swan Hill around 7:15am driving to Wangaratta to see Faye and John... John is a great guy and a fighter and Carol and I love to see him better in the coming month...

Then we did the drive to Albury Wodonga I had a look around the car yards in Albury but found nothing in the way of a new car that suit me... So as of tonight "Still Looking"

Scott has done a heap of research for a new car finding the one I am looking for just out of Sydney...

Why no pictures, I cannot find my camera card reader tonight I know it's in the back of the car just cannot find it in the dark, I find it tomorrow morning...

If you want to visit a growing city visit Shepparton I was there many years ago fitting out the Target Store for three month's I had a look today it is four or five times bigger now...

A really big city now, the sort of place you stay at for a week in the caravan... I be putting it on my list...

Wangaratta was much the same as it always was and so is Albury Wodonga they have a lot more people but still look the same to me...

The thing is now how do I get to Sydney to look at this car early next week, tomorrow I ring up about it and go from there...

The Internet, buying a car is a joke I sent emails about seven cars only three reply ed to me all trying to scam money out of us... The other four did not answer my emails... just a joke.

My stress levels were really high this week over cars and the Internet the best thing you can do is forget the internet and look at dealer cars.. Like one story most of the good cars sold on the Internet are brought buy car dealers.. They pay say $6,000 and sell it in the yard for $16,000 that what I was told and I think it is right...

Sorry about the pictures I do better tomorrow night..

You all have fun...

September 13th Thursday 2018

Tonight we are in Swan Hill, last night it was Broken Hill came down the Silver City Highway it's a good road but it's around 300km's no corners just goes' on and on for hours.. I sat the Proton on 110kph and that where it stayed we did stop and have a drink.

Taken from the Proton at 110kph today you do not turn a corner.

No turns it just boring you have to stop all you go crazy..

Nice blue sky...

We rang a number of motels in Swan Hill all full tonight so we ended up at the oldest in town but it's clean and $95 a night...

As I said it's old but very clean but the price is good... The Proton having a rest..

I took Carol out for a meal tonight across from the motel...

looking back towards town late tonight it is not a bad town Swan Hill

Tomorrow, we drive to Wangaratta then in the Afternoon we are off to Albury Wodonga. I filled the Proton tonight it used 7.1lt's per 100km's running at 100 to 110kph... I think that is pretty good and around half what the Mercedes Benz used...

That's it and you all have fun...

September 12th Wednesday 2018 (Happy Birthday Jack)

Up at 5:45am this morning and on the road by 7am, 300km's to Broken Hill and that where the plan went wrong (like normal) The plan was Carol to see the Eye Doctor at 11am South Australia time.. The 30min appointment turned into a 4hr appointment in fact a bit longer that would have put us in Mildura around 5pm...

To late the kangaroos would be all over that road at that time of day, and Carol had enough for the day so we stayed in Broken Hill...

Found this great spot as below:

Outback Villas in Broken Hill..

This was the only room left tonight a family (six beds) unit at $140 night... but better than sleeping on a park bench...

Broken Hill is full, reason the drag queen festival, The Broken Heel Festival... Not my thing, but that ok I let them have fun...

The place is full of little Villas

Here a picture of the house for tonight... not bad very neat and tidy, the little car has a lot of room tonight...

Will go to Mildura in the morning another 300km drive, not sure where we will stay tomorrow night, we will find somewhere...

It is getting warm up this way...

Head south tomorrow, have fun..

September 11th Tuesday 2018

Last night the Internet was in and out, it worked for 5min's then no Internet for the next hour, I see the Telstra truck driving up the hill this morning... Seems to be all ok tonight...

The talk in town is all about water, I have 60lt's from the hall down town we only use this water for cooking and coffee and we are using about 40lt's a week...

Our 1000lt rain water tank has around 400lt's in it...

And here is where we pickup the rain water, but and the big but is we get nothing till it rains for the record there is 70sM up here so 1mm of rain will put 70lt's of water in the rain water tank. I come up here about every three months and clean the rocks off... How do the stones get there, Kangaroos they hop around on top of the underground home and flick the rocks backwards when they jump...

The walls of the new hall way are build on the outside, the ladder holding up the last door for now I have no hardware to finish it, hinges, knobs and the rest... Next the roof and it will be at lockup stage... Next year I will line the inside and finish it, that cost money and we need a new car first..

My trees are still getting a hard time from the wild life but look how dry it is. Salt bush and only what I water all the big trees are dead and in the tip..

Nothing to tow it with but the caravan almost ready to roll bit more paint work and it be ready.. But we need a tow car...

I want you to read the White Cliffs Website about scammer, click below...

White Cliffs website CLICK HERE

Tomorrow we are off to Broken Hill where Carol will see a Eye Doctor we are then heading south looking for a tow car... There is no point owning a good car up here the dirt and the dust, rocks and hot sun will wreak it over time, I was going to add water but we never see it...

Just looking for a nice tow car, the caravan about 1100kg so I am looking for a car that happy with double that 2200kg on the back...

And the last thing to fix is me, I am told all good but it may take a year to be 100%

You all have a great week, I am going to take my new camera and take some pictures for three dots...

Have Fun

September 10th Monday 2018

Trouble with the Internet, I try send this...

Tomorrow another day...

September 9th Sunday 2018

Off to coffee at the White Cliffs Hotel today and we had a big group around 20 people we had tea and coffee and and the Hotel made us feel welcome resin toast, coffee even free biscuit's they try hard to make us feel welcome...

Back home Carol and I sat down for three hours looking for a new used cars... there are so many car to look at but most just have to many km's on the clock about 1 in 250 cars we find one we like...

Just need to build a door to fill in the long hallway.

It's almost there but will be a bit slow this week as we need to make a trip to Broken Hill on Wednesday... then we will decide what to do from there, maybe home or maybe Sydney to look at cars, maybe Melbourne...

If you stand outside and look Along the back of the new hallway this is what you see... The underground home is on the right side, the new hallway to the kitchen on the left... That's a big wall for one person to build...

This car has sure messed up our planes so we have to go to plan "D" but I not sure what that is....

We can just march on and see where we end up....

You all have a great week and have fun...

September 8th Saturday 2018

Went for coffee at Red Earth at 10am we had a full table about a dozen people today....

The letter above came yesterday in the mail, "Land Rights Claim" we had a 99yr lease on the land then along came land right and our "Government Lease" was cancelled by the high court of Australia... I was born here but it seems we are not Australian...

That happen in 2016, we now have been given a licence as in the letter above 5yr's... The top of the letter has been cut off my name, address, and licence detail... The body of the letter it there in full...

I am not saying nothing else not a thing.

No feed today but the kids are here feeding on something there is water to drink... now the one at the back walks up to the door of the house, as if to say where is the food... It's not a food day go find your own, "come on I put in an order last night..."

Does that look a bit better after about 4hr's over the last three days on the rake, and thank you people for all the comments about what to do with the big planter tub's.. Two people told me to add a cement top, and make a tables and maybe add an umbrella... Very good one I like that...

The rest of today I worked in the new hallway,

Maybe by Monday afternoon it be done, then to add the roof but a few people are coming to help with the roof a bit much on my own....

You all have fun and a great weekend...

September 7th Friday 2018

End of the week and a new weekend, did a check on Google and it is 108 days to Christmas, been looking for a new car, I have been talking to a person who wants to sell a car in Sydney... Still to decide on what we do there.

Took this on my phone today a Stumpy tail lizard just so small...

It is tiny, and as Carol put it a 2018 model it will grow really quick double in size every month we cannot do much about it but just hope a big bird does not see the little guy...

Did one more cement sheet panel today under the fixed window, it's slow going with work, till things mend but I am doing something every day....

The hallway looking good I have glued every joint, I by some more glue next week in Broken Hill....

The big sheet's are on the walls just heaps of little stuff to go and there is a lot of that...

I get it all done then work in the kitchen itself, it needs paint and a wooded floor but getting stuff here a "no no" right now with no car to tow the trailer...

RACV / NRMA all the paper work is done, the only thing left is the money in the bank but they did say by Thursday next week...

Where do we go this weekend, Red Earth Coffee shop tomorrow, and the White Cliffs Hotel on Sunday...

We are going to Broken Hill next Wednesday... And it looks like a trip to Sydney in the next ten days a new car... Well new used car... There is no point having a new car here the dirt roads, rock and dust make it a hard life for a car...

You all have a good weekend and above all have some fun.

A big hello to Faye and John in Wangaratta, John get better soon..

September 6th Thursday 2018

Spent time at the hospital this morning, I am still sore from the car crash and that was two weeks ago tomorrow Friday...

The afternoon I worked with the rake in the garden it is looking quite sick this year....

This was the area at the top of the drive around two years ago on three dots Trees sheep eating grass bush in the area.

Have a look at the same area today I planted a new tree in the hope it will grow the drought has wiped all the trees over last summer even the salt bush by the driveway is near dead.. Today I burned out a tree stump. The big flower pots, I have given up trying to grow a tree in them nothing lives.

I worked all afternoon on the garden area at the top of the driveway tonight it is tidy, but nothing green to be seen not even a weed..

Carol fed her little Kangaroo (it was a feed day today).... You can see the area I cleaned up in the background, the two big pots what do I do with then I tried a tree the goats have eaten both of them. I planted another two at the end of last year the drought and heat killed them off. I love some comment what do I do with the big pot's there to good to toss in the tip, do you know then tell me rexdun@outlook.com ....

Tonight the foot ball on, even out here in outback NSW...

Tomorrow Friday, and I hope it will rain...

You all have fun now...

September 5th Wednesday 2018

We had visitors today to look at the Underground Home and have tea and coffee we had a good time... A number of people asked about the underground so I took some pictures today...

First we have a short video I walked from the underground to the new kitchen we are getting there with the building but have quite a lot of work ahead of me... I am only working maybe two hours a day due to the car crash I am still sore...

The Video CLICK HERE..

The lounge room underground 28ft below the hill top...

Same room looking at the other side...

The stair case built in rock and cement down to our bedroom...

Our bedroom and the mess in the back corner is me and where I write Three Dots at night.. It is 28ft under ground here and under rock, the temperature is always 22 to 23c we have no heating and no cooling... To move the air around we use fans. it is so quite, no noise at all you can hear the Frig Freezer on the other side of the house... The floor is hard rock around 10" thick..

The stairs back up to the lounge room from our bedroom...

We are going out tonight to a Pot Luck Dinner to raise money for the farmers in the area...

Today there was a lot of wind outside from the north, next Monday they are talking 30c that be our first 30c for this summer if it happen...

On TV today a guy said people should not feed Kangaroo's I bet he comes from Canberra and sit's in an office all day, let me tell you if we do not give the roo's water and food they will fall on the ground dead like 100s already have... So get out of your office and come see how hard life is out here for a Kangaroo a 10" high baby fell on the ground it was as good as dead I gave it water and food and sure it's still here but alive. You say fend for themselves well that means they are as good as dead... There is nothing here for them to eat and no water to drink... The we can do is give them food every second day...

Have a happy day...

I went back to working in the hallway today on our underground home I fitted the last full size sheet from now I have to cut each sheet to size and fit each on in place, that will be a very big job but a easy one. Fitting a 2400 x 1200 cement (8ft x 4ft in the old scale) sheet on your own is not easy work all done the small stuff now...

Adrian and Dianne are back home in Albury Wodonga after a overseas trip good to see you home...

Joyce, school dress up day but more on that tomorrow...

A lot of people have asked about the Underground Home and pictures, o I see what we can do...

Hope you enjoyed Leiden I did, Thanks Bill, Have fun...

September 2nd Sunday 2018 (Father's Day...)

(From Yesterday) "Stone the crows"... Rex, but they are Guinea Fowl in you pic of today. Not related to chickens but a rarity...and intriguing... to be seen in White Cliffs. Guinea Fowl are native to the dry ,arid region of The Sudan in Africa. There is a segment of  an Australian "chook breeder fraternity" that for many past years have acclimatised Guinea Fowl into a domestic situation. Here in Howlong, just on the outskirts of town on his 5 acre block, old timer friend Richard Miller has about 15 birds that freely roam on the grass verges outside his place. The Guinea Fowl are quite unperturbed by  car traffic, and very clever not to stray on the bitumen road in a fairly busy roadway  and small...but active.... Howlong light Industrial area street. How your birds arrived at White Cliffs is a mystery. Yes...they can fly short distances, they then roost in trees: But  the best of my searches to identify their migratory habits  provides little information although Guinea Fowls like arid pastures, and will flock to feed on ground ticks and bugs. Guinea Fowls have also been to be extremely alert and sensitive to the onset of danger ...particularly snakes.   Sorry I cannot find  more reason why they lobbed at your place...Is it likely with all the extensions you are doing to your dugout...the hammering...the sawing and heavy construction ..and your constant lookout for rain .....might the Guinea Fowl think you are the new NOAH building an ARK to save all them... plus all the other parched animals in event the next flood to hit White Cliffs???. Yes ...of course I am being flippant...but there's always something of great interest daily on 3dots website. Keep up that great communication Rexie... and keep those photo's a'comin' !!!

Yes Guinea Fowl, I could not remember yesterday, thanks Bernie there seems to be a lot of them walk or fly into town must have seen 50 or more in the last two days... The big dry has a lot of wildlife on the move, the Emu have moved away and so have the Goats moved off some place...

From Queensland...

What Bill are they selling them at Auto One?..

When I came back to my workplace counter/desk  I found this yellow sign on it . Has amused the customers.
Ritchie has one too" no bs here

I liked mine better

Have you ever played toilet golf??😅.....i haven't

Bill Queensland..

Bill I have to tell the truth "NO I have not played Toilet Golf" They only play that in Queensland....

As for what happen in White Cliffs we went to the Hotel for coffee had a big group there today... Back home I built a ring around the trees that are living out of dirt and hope it will hold some water...

I put up another panel on the hallway wall (cement sheet) only one, still sore in the shoulders. I try do one more tomorrow if the big wind keeps away...

That's about it today, hope they pay out the car soon I need to go buy a new one, used. Carol car is just two low to drive around White Cliffs, we don't need two broken cars...

Off to the White Cliffs Sporting Club for a meal tonight, always a good night..

You all have fun, spring is here...

September 1st Saturday 2018 (A new month, Spring is here)

A real mix today for the first day of Spring we seen a lot of people after coffee at the Red Earth Cafe we had a small group there today...
There is an old dam in town run by council and they filling it with water from somewhere. On the bank left side top of the hill a sheep and a lot of birds in the tree....

We took this near the dam that is being filled I have to buy a good bird book (my guess a Hawk all a Falcon) comment's welcome... I got that new camera and became a bird lover, this was taken from around 50m...

Robyn going to help sell Carol Art in her Opal Shop "The Bottle House" or better know as Joe's Bottle Shop...

The White Cliffs Hotel as seen from Joe's Bottle Shop the side of it...

Carol and I went next door and Pip a little bird lives next door and fly's around the Underground Home if you leave the front door open he stays inside and never goes out, sleeps in his cage at night with the door open..

Took Carol over the other side of town (Carol had a hair cut) and came across this lot not sure if they have a home or they wild (think they are water hen???) gee I having trouble with the names of wild life of late... If they are looking for water they are in the wrong place... eMail Rex and Carol

The edge of town on the way to the tip looks so clean with no water all the ground cover is dead and dry up the red earth showing.

Last Thursday night we had 1.6mm of rain in town that will water the trees and put about 100lt's of rain water in the tank at home... A great sky today it was a nice day...

A real mix today, on Three Dots if you read dots sent an email everyone welcome to read it no matter where you are but just send an eMail saying hi,,, eMail Rex and Carol it be nice to know someone out there.

You all have fun this weekend "Spring is Here"
